| POST /v1/systemone {model?, state, questions: {id: {type, instructions, criteria}}, assets?} -> {id, model, answers, usage} | |
| GET /v1/models GET /health | |
| This is the front end of our Decision Index runs ("chat" style, temperature 1), packaged as one file: | |
| - Rendering: the model's chat template with thinking off. The state comes as chat turns, followed by one user turn | |
| with the instruction, the question and all its options (labels A, B, ...); the assistant turn opens with "Answer:". | |
| - Scoring: one prefill per question, reading the logprob of every option's label token, then a softmax over the | |
| labels only. | |
| - A multi-question request first warms the shared prefix, then scores its questions in parallel (16 threads). | |
| - Read twice (on by default; knowline_layout.py next to this file): a text-only request of at most | |
| --twice-max-tokens tokens (3000) is written twice, the second copy introduced by "Read the same input again before | |
| answering:", before the answer is read. Longer requests and requests with images are read once. --no-read-twice gives | |
| exactly the previous prompts above. (--header, off by default, lists every question of the request before the state.) | |
| Box (Jev 1.14 "box" questions and "assets"; zero-shot: the weights were not trained on boxes; see README.md): | |
| - assets: {name: {"data_base64", "format": "png"|"jpeg"}} (also a data: URL; http(s) URLs only with | |
| --allow-url-assets, since the server would fetch them itself). A string equal to an asset | |
| name in the state, in a question's instructions or in its criteria values refers to that image. Referenced images go | |
| in as named_images_content blocks, the training data's layout ("Image `a`:\n<image>\n\nImage `b`:\n<image>"), and | |
| the text keeps the names: state images in the shared prefix, a question's own images opening that question's part. | |
| Jev limits (PNG/JPEG, 280-1568 px per side, 16 MiB per image, 32 MiB per request) are checked, never fixed by resizing. | |
| - box: one SGLang /generate per box question (greedy, at most 64 new tokens in the gemma style) on the state turns plus one user turn | |
| in the style of --box-prompt (serve_knowline.sh: gemma, 'Detect the "<instructions>" in the image. Return its bounding | |
| box as JSON {"box_2d": [ymin, xmin, ymax, xmax]} with coordinates normalized to 0-1000.'); the model's four 0-1000 | |
| numbers, in the order of --box-coords (serve_knowline.sh: yxyx), become the left/top/right/bottom fractions; | |
| confidence = exp(mean logprob of the tokens of the four numbers), through --box-calibration when given. An output | |
| with no box (or cut at the token cap inside it) is answered {"type": "refusal"} (Jev's refusal), the other answers as | |
| usual; no box is ever made up. The reason goes to the server log (and, with --debug-refusals, to a "debug" field of | |
| the response). --backend hf answers no box questions. | |
| Structure (Box v1 part S, off by default): --referenced-fields adds, after a question's stem, a "Referenced fields:" block | |
| listing the dot paths of a dict state that the question's structured instructions or criteria values name (whole | |
| strings, at least two segments, resolving in the state), with their values; the block is question text, so with read | |
| twice it is in both copies. Text-only dict states only: a state that refers to image assets reaches the layout as | |
| chat turns and gets no block. Rules: OpenJev src/openjev/structure_layout.py (copied below). | |
| The rendering and scoring code is adapted from llm2jev 0.6.1 (MIT, Copyright (c) 2026 AnyJev contributors). | |
| Dependencies: transformers and requests; torch as well for --backend hf; an SGLang server for --backend sglang. | |
