It then verifies exact extraction by byte-comparing input and output trees. ## Known limits - Pure Python is not expected to beat native C/Rust compressors in speed. - Recovery repairs replacement corruption in up to two detected shards; it does not repair arbitrary insertion/deletion damage. - Password mode uses standard primitives implemented in auditable Python, but it has not undergone independent cryptographic audit. - Windows ACLs, alternate data streams, and macOS resource forks are not fully preserved by the current portable metadata layer.
