The **MotionSmith Runtime** that the add-on needs is in this repository's `releases/` folder. Install it from the add-on: Preferences > Add-ons > MotionSmith Pro > **Install Runtime**.

## How the add-on uses `latest.json`
|

- The add-on reads this file **only when you press _Check for Update_** in its preferences, and only if Blender's *Online Access* is on (Preferences > System > Network).
|

- It compares the version here with the version you have installed and tells you whether a newer one exists.
|

- If one exists, **Get Update** opens the MotionSmith site in your browser.
|

- The add-on never downloads or installs anything by itself, and it sends nothing about you or your files. The request is a plain download of this small file.
