# Electron Tomography VAE (ResNet18)

## Model Description
This is a Variational Autoencoder (VAE) developed for electron tomography reconstruction as part of a university project. 

As per the licensing, the encoder utilizes a ResNet18 architecture provided by `torchvision`, which has been adapted for feature extraction from tomographic data.

## Intended Use
This model is intended for academic research and demonstration purposes. It is designed to run behind a Streamlit web application, allowing users to interactively visualize reconstructed volumes without needing to write code.
