Welcome to the LOST NEW YORK Easter Egg Hunt.
All of the following are actual responses that appear in LOST NEW
YORK. All are achievable through common verbs and objects
mentioned in the game -- no secret commands or guess-the-verb
puzzles here. Some are fairly easy to stumble onto; others require
certain actions to be taken in a specific order, or in a specific location.
The first person to send an accurate description of how to get all 10
responses (either a transcript of the relevant sections of game play,
or a simple written description of the steps taken) to me at
neild@echonyc.com will win a copy of Jeff Kisseloff's wonderful book,
_You Must Remember This: An Oral History of Manhattan from the
1890s to World War II_. In the unlikely event that no one has found
all 10 responses by January 1, 1997, I'll select a random drawing of
those with the most right answers to decide who gets the prize.
Happy hunting,
Neil deMause

THE LIST:
1) That's not what they mean by "thick as pea soup."
2) Look, you were warned about the squirrels already.
3) "No slugs," he growls.
4) "Cat hop! House wins."
5) The good news: There's one here already. The bad news: It isn't
going anywhere.
6) Nice try, but it hasn't even been built yet. Why don't you go find a
nice three-card monte game instead?
7) "Fooling around with electricity, it'll get you in trouble every
time."
8) You hear a faint voice, ghostly and distant, as if crossing the
boundary between time and eternity: "Please stand clear of the
moving platform..."
9) "The ultimate weakness of violence is that it is a descending spiral,
begetting the very thing it seeks to destroy. Through violence you
may murder the liar, but you cannot murder the lie, nor establish the
truth."
--Martin Luther King
10) The guide looks puzzled. "Who? Never heard of him."
