# MMS Forced Aligner — CoreML
Meta's [MMS](https://github.com/facebookresearch/fairseq/tree/main/examples/mms) forced-alignment
model (wav2vec2 + CTC over a romanized alphabet), converted to CoreML at fp16 from torchaudio's
`MMS_FA` bundle with coremltools 9.0 (torch 2.8.0).
`MMSForcedAligner.mlmodelc.zip` is the compiled `MMSForcedAligner.mlmodelc` directory, used by the
Kioku iOS app's on-device lyric alignment.

The MMS code and model weights are released by Meta under **CC BY-NC 4.0** (non-commercial);
this conversion carries the same license. Credit: Meta AI, *Scaling Speech Technology to 1,000+
Languages* (Pratap et al., 2023).
