This isn't really related, but... do people generally prefer dark themes or light themes?

Always dark. Not pitch black. Text is (if possible) deep orange.

The huggingface theme 🀀

Dark

Dark, preferably black backgrounds with a blueish text that makes it look like its lit up. I'm not young anymore and had to start wearing glasses. I find this makes lettering standout without hurting my eyes.

Yes, I completely agree. When writing on paper, I still prefer white paper. But screens are different; they have LEDs underneath, and it creates an effect similar to looking directly at the sun.

I have nearsightedness in one eye and astigmatism in the other. Do you understand the feeling of going out at night and the headlights being so blinding and blurry? That's exactly what I feel when looking at a white screen of light themes.

Yessir, driving at night and those led headlights turning off all ability to see till the cars passed me. All I can do is try to stay straight and hope for the best. Lol
I'm exaggerating a little bit sometimes that's how it feels.
