About Us
The objective of this project is to develop a ship classification system utilizing deep learning techniques, specifically Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), to accurately classify images of ships into one of five categories: Cargo, Carrier, Military, Cruise, and Tankers. By leveraging the power of neural networks, the system aims to enhance maritime traffic monitoring, safeguard coastal defense, and streamline early warning systems.
The scope of the project involves preprocessing a dataset containing ship images and dividing them into categories using a provided train.csv file. The project utilizes the VGG16 model, a pre-trained deep learning model known for its effectiveness in computer vision tasks. The top layer of the VGG16 model will be adapted for custom ship classification. Deployment of the model will be facilitated using the Flask framework, enabling seamless integration into existing systems or standalone applications.
