Three things live here, and they are deliberately independent:
IDENTITY who you are — a device profile, or a Google / Facebook account
LINKING attaching one of those accounts to a local profile you already
have, so signing in never costs you your progress

They are separate because only the first two need a sign-in provider and only
the third needs to work when there is no server at all. Portable .mfsave
files therefore do the whole job offline: save one to Files or Drive, then
load that actual game-save file on another device.
SOCIAL SIGN-IN WAS REMOVED. Google and Facebook need OAuth app IDs a shipped
build cannot invent, so the buttons were permanently inert — and worse, the
"not configured" message rendered behind the profile overlay, so they looked
broken rather than unavailable. Save files cover the actual need (moving a
career between devices) with no server, no login, and nothing that can go
down. The sign-in machinery below is kept but unreferenced by the UI, so a
future build with real credentials can switch it back on by restoring the
provider buttons in renderAccount().
