1. Review the image: the centre panel shows detected particles as boxes. Toggle Show Binary Mask to inspect segmentation, Zoom to look closer, and Show IDs to label particles (hidden by default so they don't cover small rods).
2. Check the scale: the calibration source is shown at the top right. If it is wrong or uncalibrated, click Re-scale and draw a line along the scale bar, or use the Mask slider to fine-tune how aggressively touching particles are separated.
3. Curate the selection (right panel Ledger) — exclude clumps, dirt, or anything that isn't a clean rod:
4. Update: press "Update Particles" to generate statistics and histograms from the kept particles.
5. Save & export:
