# Image and Video Understanding Lab (IVUL) – KAUST

Welcome to the **Image and Video Understanding Lab (IVUL)** at **King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST)**!  

At IVUL, we explore fundamental and applied research in **computer vision**, with interests that span:

- Activity recognition and detection  
- Robust object representations for tracking and recognition  
- Scene understanding from 3D data  
- Image and video annotation at scale  

Our mission is to make sense of visual data—especially at **large scale**—through the development of **innovative machine learning and optimization methods**.

## 🔬 Research Focus

We aim to push the boundaries of what machines can understand from visual input. Our work addresses both theoretical and practical challenges across a broad spectrum of topics in computer vision and machine learning.
