| WARNING NOTICE: ILLEGAL WORKING IN KOREA | |
| The SGCS Office has given repeated warnings to all students regarding unauthorized work in Korea. Unfortunately, the office has noticed that no heed has been paid to those warnings. | |
| This week, more than 12 SGCS students were arrested by the authorities for working illegally. They are now detained at the Immigration Center, and each student may have to pay at least KRW 2 million. | |
| In addition to illegal working, some students have been involved in criminal activities such as voice phishing. These students claimed that they did not know they worked for a criminal organization, but eventually, they all got deported after finishing their sentence in prison. Of course, they could not finish their study at Inha as well. | |
| Remember: there is NO easy way of making money. Recently, the Immigration Center has further strengthened its enforcement measures to stop illegal employment and therefore, the university is NOT able to help students who get caught for working illegally. If you are arrested for working illegally, you will face a criminal punishment such as penalty payment and 1 year-ban on working part-time. Moreover, You may not be allowed to receive a job-seeker visa (D-10) after your graduation. In the worst case scenario, you may be deported or have your visa status revoked by the immigration authorities. | |
| The SGCS Office strongly urges you NOT to work illegally. Again, the university is NOT able to help reduce the amount of your penalty or get you out of prison. Before you start a part-time job, you must go to the Immigration Center and receive an approval. Failure to do so will result in serious criminal punishment. |
