# SDAIA-KFUPM Joint Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (JRC-AI)

## About Us

The SDAIA-KFUPM Joint Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (JRC-AI) was established at King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM) in January 2022 and officially announced at the Global AI Summit in September 2022.

**Our Vision & Mission:** To establish the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as a global leader among data-driven economies. We aim to achieve this by:
* Conducting and supporting research and innovation in Artificial Intelligence (AI).
* Developing use-cases and solutions aligned with the Saudi National Strategy of Data & AI.
* Contributing to the Kingdom's Vision 2030.

## Research

JRC-AI focuses on advancing research in the field of Artificial Intelligence.

### Research Themes

* **Computer Vision:** Emulating human vision through AI.
* **Natural Language Processing (NLP):** Focusing on fundamental NLP research.
* **Machine Learning & Deep Learning:** Developing and delivering state-of-the-art solutions.

### Applications of Artificial Intelligence

JRC-AI explores AI applications across various sectors, including:

* Vision and Perception
