Terms of Service
| |
Last updated: October 29, 2026
| |
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Lorm Labs, Inc., a Delaware corporation ("Lorm," "we," "us" or "our"). They govern your access to and use of the website at https://lorm.ai and its subdomains (the "Site"), and any research previews, application programming interfaces, evaluation endpoints, benchmarks, demonstrations, software development kits, documentation, dashboards and related services that we make available and that link to or reference these Terms (together with the Site, the "Services").
| |
By accessing or using the Services, clicking to accept, or creating an account, you agree to be bound by these Terms and acknowledge our Privacy Policy. If you use the Services on behalf of a company, research institution or other entity, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity, and "you" refers to both you and that entity. If you do not agree, do not access or use the Services.
| |
If you have entered into a separate written agreement with Lorm, such as a Master Services Agreement, Evaluation Services Agreement, Order Form, research collaboration agreement, nondisclosure agreement or Data Processing Addendum (an "Enterprise Agreement"), that agreement controls to the extent it conflicts with these Terms.
| |
1. Who May Use the Services
| |
The Services are built for organizations and professionals developing, training, evaluating or researching AI systems. They are not consumer products and are not directed at children. You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Services.
| |
You may not use the Services if you are located in, or are a resident or national of, a country or territory subject to comprehensive U.S. sanctions, or if you are on any U.S. government restricted-party list.
| |
2. The Services
| |
2.1 What Lorm provides. Lorm is an AI research company exploring how advances in intelligence can expand what people understand, discover and solve. Depending on the Services you access, Lorm may provide research previews, APIs, evaluation tools, outcome-evaluation models, reward signals, benchmarks, training environments and related technologies. Not every Service described in these Terms is necessarily available at any given time. Depending on what we make available to you, the Services may include informational content on the Site; a waitlist or research-preview program; an API that accepts your inputs and returns scores, calibrated estimates, rankings or other evaluation outputs; benchmark and demonstration interfaces; and associated tooling and documentation.
| |
2.2 Access and authorization. Certain Services, including research previews, evaluation consoles, datasets and experimental features, may require registration, invitation or separate written authorization. You agree to use the Services only within the scope of your authorized access. Datasets we release under an open license, such as CC BY 4.0, may be downloaded and used under that license without registration or separate authorization.
| |
2.3 Research previews and beta features. Services or features labeled "research preview," "beta," "early access" or similar are offered for evaluation purposes, may be modified or withdrawn at any time, may have reduced availability or support, and may contain errors. They are provided "as is," and the disclaimers and limitations in these Terms apply to them with full force.
| |
2.4 Changes to the Services. We are a research company and our offerings evolve. We may add, modify, restrict, suspend, deprecate or discontinue any part of the Services for security, operational, research or legal reasons, subject to any Enterprise Agreement. Where reasonably practicable, we will give account holders advance notice of the deprecation of an API version or model checkpoint they are actively using.
| |
3. Accounts and Credentials
| |
To access certain Services you must register for an account and may be issued API keys or other credentials. You agree to provide accurate and complete registration information and keep it current. You are responsible for all activity under your account and credentials. Keep your credentials confidential, do not share them, and notify us promptly at support [at] lorm [dot] com of any unauthorized access or security incident affecting your account. We may suspend credentials that we reasonably believe have been compromised or misused.
| |
If your organization administers your account, your administrator may be able to access, control or delete your account and the content associated with it.
| |
4. Your Content: Inputs and Outputs
| |
4.1 Definitions. "Inputs" means the data, prompts, model responses, trajectories, model information, files and other materials you submit to the Services. "Outputs" means the scores, estimates, rankings, labels, explanations and other results the Services return in response to your Inputs. Inputs and Outputs together are "Customer Content."
| |
4.2 Ownership and use of Outputs. As between you and Lorm, you retain ownership of your Inputs, subject to third-party rights. We do not acquire ownership of your proprietary models or confidential materials because you submit them through the Services. Subject to these Terms and any applicable Enterprise Agreement, you may use the Outputs generated specifically for you for your authorized internal business and research purposes. Lorm retains ownership of its models, algorithms, datasets, benchmarks, evaluation methodologies, underlying technologies and independently developed research results. Broader rights to use, reproduce, distribute or incorporate Outputs into commercial AI systems, including rights to train or fine-tune models on Outputs, may be granted under a separate written agreement. Because the Services are statistical, Outputs may not be unique and similar Outputs may be returned to other customers.
| |
Released datasets. A downloadable Lorm dataset is governed by the license supplied with it. SENSUS datasets and the data files of SENSUS evaluation kits are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), and the scripts supplied with them under the MIT License. For a dataset released under an open license, that license controls over any conflicting provision of these Terms, including Sections 2.2, 7 and 8. Recorded outputs of third-party models included in an evaluation release are provided as evaluation records and are licensed only to the extent Lorm holds rights in them. An open license for a released dataset does not grant access to restricted materials.
| |
4.3 License to Lorm. You grant Lorm a limited, non-exclusive license to process Customer Content as reasonably necessary to provide, maintain, secure and support the Services, perform authorized evaluations, enforce these Terms and comply with law.
| |
4.4 No training without opt-in. We do not use Customer Content submitted through the API or a research preview to train, fine-tune, distill or otherwise improve our models unless you expressly opt in, for example by enrolling in a data-sharing program or submitting feedback through a feature clearly labeled for that purpose. If you opt in and later withdraw, we will stop using your Customer Content in new training runs from the point of withdrawal and, on request, delete retained copies of that content from our training datasets within a reasonable period, subject to legal retention requirements. Withdrawal does not by itself require retraining of models that were trained before withdrawal, and we cannot remove the influence of content from models that have already been trained. Nothing in this Section limits rights or obligations under applicable data protection law. De-identification or aggregation of Customer Content does not independently authorize us to use it for model development contrary to this Section or an applicable agreement. Separately from any permission concerning the content of your Inputs and Outputs, we may generate and retain de-identified, aggregated operational metrics (such as request volumes and latency distributions) that do not include that content, and use them for any lawful purpose.
| |
4.5 Your responsibilities for Inputs. You are solely responsible for your Inputs and for your use of Outputs. You represent and warrant that you have all rights, licenses, consents and authority necessary to submit your Inputs and permit the processing described in these Terms, and that your Inputs and your use of the Services do not violate any law or third-party right. Unless expressly permitted by an Enterprise Agreement, you will not submit Inputs that contain:
| |
| |
personal information relating to a child under 13 (or under the applicable age of digital consent), or data collected from an online service directed at children;
| |
protected health information, payment card data, government identification numbers, or records subject to sector-specific privacy regulation, in identifiable form;
| |
personal information that you submit for processing on your organization's behalf where a data-processing agreement is required by applicable law, unless you have entered into that agreement with us before submitting the information; or
| |
confidential information or trade secrets of a third party that you are not authorized to disclose.
| |
| |
Where we process personal information on behalf of a customer, the parties' respective responsibilities and any required data-processing terms will be established under an applicable written agreement. Lorm is the controller of information collected through the Site and ordinary account administration; whether Lorm acts as a processor or service provider for a particular engagement is determined by that engagement's agreement.
| |
5. Lorm Research Data, Benchmarks and Results
| |
Lorm develops and maintains datasets, research benchmarks, evaluation models and related technologies. We may create, use, retain and commercialize research data, models, methodologies and derived outputs where permitted by applicable law and our governing agreements.
| |
Access to a demonstration, benchmark or evaluation interface does not grant ownership of, or unrestricted rights to, the underlying research data, evaluation materials, software or models. Research outputs developed by Lorm, including analyses, performance measurements and benchmark results, remain subject to Lorm's intellectual property rights and any third-party rights or contractual restrictions. Nonpublic research results, proprietary benchmark cases and restricted evaluation materials may not be published, redistributed or commercially exploited without our written authorization.
| |
Specific rights concerning research deliverables, model submissions, data access, benchmarking, licensing and publication may be established through an Enterprise Agreement.
| |
6. Nature of Outputs; Research Disclaimers
| |
Outputs may include scores, estimates, rankings, labels and explanations generated by machine-learning systems. Their meaning and limitations depend on the documented methodology for the relevant Service. Outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete or inconsistent across model versions, and do not guarantee outcomes or establish causal effectiveness. Where a Service produces calibrated scores, a calibrated score is a statement about likelihood, not a guarantee, and calibration measured on one population or checkpoint may not transfer to another. Results depend on the underlying data, model configuration, evaluation methodology and other conditions.
| |
You acknowledge that:
| |
| |
you will independently evaluate the accuracy, appropriateness and fitness of Outputs and research findings for your use case, including through your own held-out evaluations;
| |
Outputs are not a substitute for human judgment and are not advice of any kind;
| |
unless expressly authorized through an Enterprise Agreement, you will not use Outputs as the sole basis for decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects on an identifiable individual; and
| |
any use of or reliance on Outputs or research findings is at your own risk.
| |
| |
7. Acceptable Use
| |
You may use the Services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to, and not to permit anyone else to:
| |
| |
use the Services in violation of any applicable law, regulation or third-party right, including privacy, intellectual property, export control and anti-discrimination laws;
| |
use restricted Lorm materials, benchmark cases or Outputs to reproduce, extract or develop a substantially substitutable version of Lorm's proprietary evaluation models, reward models, benchmarks or services without authorization (this restriction does not prohibit model training, fine-tuning or evaluation activities expressly permitted by an applicable commercial or research agreement);
| |
attempt to extract, reconstruct or infer model weights, training data, architectures, proprietary datasets or other non-public aspects of the Services, including through model-extraction or membership-inference techniques;
| |
attempt to identify or re-identify any individual represented in research datasets, benchmarks or Outputs;
| |
reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble any part of the Services, except as expressly permitted by applicable law, or circumvent any rate limits, access controls, safety mitigations or usage restrictions;
| |
copy, reproduce, distribute, sell, sublicense or commercially exploit restricted Lorm materials, or scrape or systematically extract proprietary datasets or benchmark materials;
| |
use the Services to exploit or harm minors, or to profile, surveil or make decisions about identifiable individuals without a lawful basis;
| |
submit malicious code, interfere with the integrity or performance of the Services, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to any system, account or data;
| |
use automated means to access the Site other than through published APIs, in compliance with our rate limits and robots.txt;
| |
misrepresent the source of Outputs, present Outputs as human-generated evaluations where that would be misleading, or remove any notices or attributions we provide;
| |
where publication of comparative performance results is permitted under these Terms or an applicable agreement, publish such results without identifying the model version, date and methodology used and attributing the Services accurately (nonpublic evaluations remain subject to Section 10 and any applicable confidentiality or publication terms); or
| |
resell, sublicense or provide the Services to third parties as a stand-alone offering, except through integrations we have approved in writing.
| |
| |
These restrictions do not prevent lawful independent research or the permitted use of materials that Lorm has expressly released for public use under an applicable license. We may monitor use of the Services to detect abuse and ensure quality, security and compliance, consistent with our Privacy Policy, and may remove content, throttle usage or suspend access where we reasonably believe this Section has been violated.
| |
8. Intellectual Property
| |
8.1 Our rights. The Services, including all models, model weights, software, APIs, datasets, benchmarks, research methodologies, documentation, text, graphics, designs and the selection and arrangement thereof, and all improvements and derivative works, are owned by Lorm or its licensors and protected by copyright, trade secret, patent, trademark and other laws. Except for the limited rights expressly granted in these Terms, all rights are reserved.
| |
8.2 Your license. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to access and use the Services for your internal business and research purposes during the term. You may view and download Site content for your own informational use, provided you keep all proprietary notices intact.
| |
8.3 Trademarks. "Lorm," the Lorm logo and our product names are trademarks of Lorm. You may not use them without our prior written permission, except to accurately identify the Services (for example, in a research paper or technical report) in a manner that does not suggest endorsement.
| |
8.4 Feedback. If you provide suggestions, ideas, bug reports or other feedback about the Services ("Feedback"), you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free license to use the Feedback for any purpose without obligation to you. Feedback is not confidential unless we agree otherwise in writing. This Feedback license does not grant permission to use Customer Content or personal information for model training; such use remains subject to Section 4.4 and any applicable written agreement.
| |
9. Fees and Payment
| |
Unless otherwise stated, access to the Site is provided at no charge. Fees for commercial services, research engagements, licensing or other paid offerings will be specified in an Enterprise Agreement, order form, pricing page or checkout flow that you accept. Payment obligations, billing cycles, taxes, refund terms and any price-change procedures are governed by those terms. Unless stated otherwise, fees are quoted in U.S. dollars and exclusive of taxes, and you are responsible for all taxes other than taxes on our net income.
| |
10. Confidentiality
| |
"Confidential Information" means non-public information disclosed by one party to the other that is marked confidential or that a reasonable person would understand to be confidential, including unpublished research, non-public features, model details, datasets, evaluation results, roadmaps, pricing and the terms of any Enterprise Agreement. Each party will use the other's Confidential Information only to exercise its rights and perform its obligations under these Terms, protect it with at least reasonable care, and not disclose it except to employees, contractors and advisors who need to know it and are bound by comparable obligations.
| |
Confidential Information does not include information that is or becomes public through no fault of the recipient, was lawfully known to the recipient before disclosure, is independently developed without use of the Confidential Information, or is lawfully received from a third party without restriction. A party may disclose Confidential Information when required by law, after giving reasonable notice where permitted. If a separate nondisclosure agreement or Enterprise Agreement applies, its confidentiality provisions control in the event of conflict.
| |
11. Third-Party Services
| |
The Services may link to or interoperate with third-party websites, AI models, software, infrastructure or other technologies, which are subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party services. References to third-party technologies, or their inclusion in research comparisons, do not imply endorsement, affiliation or partnership.
| |
12. Term, Suspension and Termination
| |
These Terms take effect when you first use the Services and continue until terminated. You may stop using the Services and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access, in whole or in part, with notice where practicable, if you breach these Terms, create a security risk, use the Services outside your authorization, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Services. We may terminate for convenience on 30 days' notice to account holders.
| |
Upon termination, your license ends and you must stop using the Services. Export of Customer Content after termination is subject to the functionality we support and any applicable Enterprise Agreement; after a reasonable period we may delete Customer Content in accordance with our retention practices, except as required by law. Sections 4.2 (as to Outputs already generated), 4.5, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, and 12 through 18, and any other provisions that by their nature should survive, will survive termination.
| |
13. Disclaimer of Warranties
| |
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICES, SITE CONTENT, RESEARCH RESULTS AND OUTPUTS ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY OR OTHERWISE, INCLUDING ANY WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, OR THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE OR SECURE. WITHOUT LIMITING THE FOREGOING, LORM MAKES NO WARRANTY REGARDING THE ACCURACY, CALIBRATION, COMPLETENESS OR RELIABILITY OF ANY OUTPUT OR RESEARCH RESULT, OR THAT ANY MODEL, RESULT OR FINDING WILL GENERALIZE TO OTHER TASKS, POPULATIONS OR ENVIRONMENTS. NOTHING IN THESE TERMS EXCLUDES WARRANTIES THAT CANNOT LAWFULLY BE DISCLAIMED.
| |
14. Limitation of Liability
| |
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL LORM OR ITS AFFILIATES, LICENSORS, SERVICE PROVIDERS, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY OR RESEARCH RESULTS, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICES, UNDER ANY LEGAL THEORY, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
| |
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LORM'S TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICES WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE FEES YOU PAID TO LORM FOR THE APPLICABLE SERVICES IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM AND (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US$100).
| |
These limitations do not apply to liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including liability arising from a party's gross negligence, willful misconduct or fraud. They apply even if a limited remedy fails of its essential purpose and reflect the parties' agreed allocation of risk. Different limitations may apply under an Enterprise Agreement.
| |
15. Indemnification
| |
You will defend, indemnify and hold harmless Lorm and its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, contractors and agents, from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to (a) Inputs you submit in violation of these Terms or applicable law, (b) your misuse of the Services or Outputs in breach of Section 6 or Section 7, (c) your other breach of these Terms or applicable law, or (d) your violation of any third-party right. This obligation does not extend to claims arising solely from errors in Outputs that you used in compliance with these Terms. We may assume the exclusive defense and control of any matter subject to indemnification, in which case you will cooperate with us.
| |
16. Export Controls and Sanctions
| |
The Services may be subject to U.S. export control and sanctions laws. You will comply with all such laws and will not export, re-export or transfer the Services or Outputs, directly or indirectly, to any prohibited destination, end user or end use.
| |
17. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
| |
These Terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or the Services are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Unless otherwise agreed in writing or required by applicable law, any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to personal jurisdiction and venue in those courts. Before filing a claim, you and Lorm agree to attempt to resolve the dispute informally by written notice to the other party (support [at] lorm [dot] com for Lorm) and good-faith discussion for at least 30 days.
| |

Changes to these Terms. We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised date; for material changes we will provide additional notice to account holders (by email or in-product) at least 14 days before they take effect, except where a change is required by law or addresses a security or safety issue. Your continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
| |
Assignment. You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization or sale of assets, or by operation of law.
| |
Severability; waiver. If any provision is held unenforceable, it will be limited to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions remain in effect. A failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver.
| |

Privacy Policy
| |
Last updated: October 29, 2026
| |
Lorm Labs, Inc. ("Lorm," "we," "us" or "our") is an AI research company exploring how advances in intelligence can expand what people understand, discover and solve. Depending on the Services you access, we may provide research previews, APIs, evaluation tools, benchmarks and related technologies. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect personal information when you visit https://lorm.ai (the "Site"), use our research previews, APIs, demonstrations, evaluation tools and related services (together with the Site, the "Services"), communicate with us, or apply for a role with us. It also explains the choices and rights available to you.
| |
For purposes of this Policy, Lorm is the controller (or "business") responsible for the personal information described here. If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, Section 11 contains additional information that applies to you.
| |
What this Policy does not cover. This Policy does not govern personal information we process solely on behalf of a customer under a written agreement; that processing is governed by the applicable agreement. This Policy continues to apply where Lorm determines the purposes and means of processing for its own activities, including operating the Site and administering accounts. Each organization involved in collecting, disclosing or processing personal information is responsible for complying with its own applicable legal obligations. If you believe a customer has processed your personal information through our Services, please contact that customer directly with any request to access, correct or delete it; we will assist our customers in responding as required. This Policy also does not apply to third-party websites or services we link to.
| |
1. Summary of Key Points
| |
| |
We collect limited personal information when you contact us, join a waitlist or newsletter, register for an account or API access, use the Services, or apply for a job.
| |
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
| |
We do not use content you submit through our API or research previews to train or improve our models unless you expressly opt in.
| |
Our models, benchmarks and evaluation methodologies are developed using data from a variety of sources, which we process under applicable legal and contractual authorizations with de-identification, data minimization and access controls. We do not attempt to re-identify individuals in research data, and we do not permit anyone else to.
| |
Our Services are for organizations and professionals, not children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
| |
You can contact us at support [at] lorm [dot] com to exercise your privacy rights.
| |
| |
2. Personal Information We Collect
| |
2.1 Information you provide to us
| |
| |
Contact and inquiry information. When you contact us through the Site, by email or on social media: your name, email address, telephone number, organization, the content of your message and any other information you choose to include.
| |
Waitlist, newsletter and event sign-ups. Your name, work email address, organization, role and areas of interest.
| |
Account and API registration. Name, work email address, organization, role, authentication credentials, API key metadata and, for paid Services, billing contact details. Where we accept card payments, card details are collected and processed by a third-party payment processor rather than stored by us.
| |
Inputs and Outputs. If you use the API or a research preview outside an Enterprise Agreement, we receive the content you submit ("Inputs") and the results we return ("Outputs"). If your Inputs contain personal information, we process it as described in this Policy and our Terms of Service, which restrict the categories of personal information you may submit.
| |
Feedback. Ratings, comments and corrections you choose to provide about Outputs or the Services.
| |
Recruiting information. If you apply for a position: your résumé, work history, contact details and any other information you provide, as well as information from references you provide.
| |
| |
2.2 Information we collect automatically
| |
| |
Device and log information. IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device identifiers, language settings, referring URLs, pages viewed, access times, authentication events and security logs.
| |
Approximate location. We may infer your general geographic region from your IP address.
| |
Usage and API metadata. For account holders: request volumes, endpoints called, model identifiers and versions, test configurations, token counts, latency, error codes and similar operational metadata. This metadata is distinct from the content of your Inputs and Outputs.
| |
Cookies and similar technologies. We and our service providers use cookies, pixels and local storage to operate the Site, remember preferences, maintain sessions and measure traffic. See Section 7.
| |
Email engagement. If we send newsletters or marketing emails, they may contain pixels that tell us whether a message was opened or a link was clicked.
| |
| |
2.3 Information we receive from other sources
| |
| |
Service providers and security partners. Information that helps us operate, secure and support the Services, such as fraud and abuse signals.
| |
Business and professional sources. Publicly available professional information (for example, from your organization's website or a professional networking profile) that we use to understand and communicate with prospective customers and partners.
| |
Referrals and integrations. If someone refers you to us or you connect a third-party service to your account, we receive the information that person or service provides.
| |
| |
3. Research and Model-Development Data
| |
Lorm develops its models, reward signals, benchmarks, training environments and evaluation methodologies using data obtained from a variety of sources, including data we license or receive from third parties, publicly available information, and data generated through our own research. We describe this here for transparency, although research data is handled separately from the personal information collected through the Services.
| |
| |
Legal and contractual basis. We process research datasets only under applicable legal and contractual authorizations. Each organization involved in collecting, disclosing or processing personal information is responsible for complying with its own applicable legal obligations. Nothing in this Policy transfers or limits Lorm's responsibilities under applicable privacy laws.
| |
Safeguards. We apply de-identification, data minimization, access restrictions, logging, least-privilege access and retention limits appropriate to each dataset and its use. Research data is processed within access-controlled environments.
| |
Standard for de-identification. We treat information as de-identified only when the applicable legal and technical requirements are satisfied. Identifiable or reasonably linkable research records are handled as personal information under this Policy, and the sources and recipients of such records are reflected in the relevant disclosures in Sections 2, 5 and 10 where applicable.
| |
No re-identification. We commit contractually and as a matter of policy not to attempt to re-identify any individual from de-identified research data, not to link it with other data sets for that purpose, and to require the same of anyone we share it with. We do not authorize users of the Services to attempt to identify individuals represented in research datasets, benchmarks or Outputs.
| |
Permitted uses. Where permitted by applicable law and our governing agreements, we use research data to conduct scientific research; develop, train, fine-tune, test and evaluate AI models; build and improve benchmarks, training environments and evaluation methodologies; produce and publish non-identifying research findings; and develop and commercialize research products and technologies.
| |
| |
Customer Content submitted through the API or research previews does not enter our research datasets, and is not used to develop our models, unless you opt in (see Section 4); opted-in content is handled under the terms of that opt-in. This Policy does not itself create rights that a dataset's governing agreements do not provide, and nothing in it independently grants rights to use personal information for research, training or commercialization where additional legal or contractual authorization is required.
| |
4. How We Use Personal Information
| |
| |
To provide and operate the Services, including creating and administering accounts, authenticating API requests, returning Outputs, performing authorized evaluations and benchmarking, providing support and processing payments.
| |
To communicate with you, including responding to inquiries, sending service announcements and security notices and, with your consent where required, newsletters and information about our research, products and events. You can opt out of marketing communications at any time.
| |
To improve and develop the Services, including analyzing usage patterns, measuring performance and reliability, debugging and developing new features. We do not use Inputs or Outputs submitted through the API or research previews to train or improve our models unless you expressly opt in. If you opt in and later withdraw, we stop using your content in new training runs from that point and, on request, delete retained copies from our training datasets within a reasonable period, subject to legal retention requirements; withdrawal does not by itself require retraining of models trained before withdrawal, and we cannot remove the influence of content from models already trained. Nothing in this provision limits rights or obligations under applicable data protection law.
| |
To secure the Services, including detecting, investigating and preventing fraud, abuse, security incidents and violations of our Terms of Service.
| |
To comply with law and protect rights, including responding to legal process, enforcing our agreements and protecting the rights, property and safety of Lorm, our users and others.
| |
For recruiting, including evaluating applications and communicating with candidates.
| |
To create de-identified or aggregated data, which we may use and disclose for any lawful purpose. We will not attempt to re-identify such data. De-identification or aggregation does not independently authorize us to use Customer Content for model development contrary to our commitments in this Policy or an applicable agreement; separately authorized research datasets (Section 3) are not subject to that customer-content restriction.
| |
| |
We do not use personal information to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects on you.
| |
5. How We Disclose Personal Information
| |
| |
Service providers. Vendors that perform services for us, such as cloud hosting, authentication, payment processing, email delivery, analytics, customer support and security. They may access personal information only to perform services on our behalf and are bound by contractual obligations.
| |
Authorized research and business partners. Organizations participating in approved research or commercial arrangements, subject to the applicable agreements and legal requirements.
| |
Affiliates. Entities under common ownership or control with Lorm, for the purposes described in this Policy.
| |
Professional advisors. Lawyers, auditors, accountants, insurers and consultants, as needed to operate our business and comply with our obligations.
| |
Business transfers. In connection with, or during negotiations of, a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy or sale of all or part of our business or assets, subject to confidentiality and applicable law.
| |
Legal and safety. Government authorities, courts and other third parties where we believe disclosure is required by law or legal process, or is reasonably necessary to protect the rights, property or safety of Lorm, our users or the public, or to enforce our agreements.
| |
With your direction or consent. For example, when you ask us to share information with a third-party integration.
| |
| |
We may disclose lawfully de-identified or aggregated research information and derived outputs for research, development and commercial purposes. We do not sell personal information, and we do not "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under U.S. state privacy laws. We have not done so in the preceding 12 months.
| |
6. Retention
| |
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, taking into account the nature and sensitivity of the information, the purposes for which it was collected, our legal and contractual obligations, and the need to resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. As a guide:
| |
| |
Account information is retained for the life of the account and for a limited period afterward to resolve disputes and meet legal obligations.
| |
API Inputs and Outputs submitted outside an Enterprise Agreement are retained for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring and support, unless you have opted into a data-sharing program or a longer period is required by law. Enterprise retention is governed by the applicable agreement.
| |
Usage and API metadata may be retained in aggregated or de-identified form indefinitely.
| |
Marketing contact information is retained until you unsubscribe or it is no longer needed.
| |
Recruiting information is retained in accordance with applicable employment laws and, if you are not hired, for a limited period for future opportunities unless you ask us to delete it.
| |
De-identified research datasets, statistical analyses, model outputs and other non-identifying research materials may be retained for ongoing research, reproducibility, model development and commercial purposes, subject to applicable law and contractual obligations.
| |
| |
When we delete personal information at your request, we may retain a record of the request to demonstrate compliance.
| |
7. Cookies and Analytics
| |
We use the following categories of cookies and similar technologies:
| |
| |
Strictly necessary. Required for the Site and account features to work, including session management, authentication and security.
| |
Preferences. Remember settings such as language or display choices.
| |
Analytics. Help us understand how visitors use the Site. We may use third-party analytics services for this purpose; these services collect information such as pages viewed, referrers and approximate location through cookies or similar technologies. Where required by law, we obtain your consent before setting non-essential cookies.
| |
| |
You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling cookies may affect some features of the Site. We honor Global Privacy Control and similar opt-out preference signals to the extent required by applicable law. We do not respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals, for which there is no accepted standard. We do not use advertising cookies or engage in targeted advertising.
| |
8. Security
| |
We implement technical, administrative and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information, which may include encryption in transit and at rest, access controls and least-privilege principles, logging and monitoring, secure infrastructure, restrictions on access to research information, and employee confidentiality obligations. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact support [at] lorm [dot] com immediately.
| |
9. Your Choices and Rights
| |
9.1 Choices available to everyone
| |
| |
Marketing emails. Unsubscribe using the link in any marketing email or by contacting us. You will continue to receive transactional and service messages.
| |
Cookies. Manage cookies through your browser or, where offered, our cookie banner.
| |
Account information. Update your account details through your account settings or by contacting us.
| |
Model training. Inputs and Outputs submitted through the API or research previews are not used for model development unless you opt in. You can withdraw an opt-in at any time through your account settings or by contacting us; Section 4 describes the effect of withdrawal.
| |
| |
9.2 Rights that may be available depending on where you live
| |

Restrict or object to certain processing.
| |
Receive your personal information in a portable format.
| |

To exercise these rights, email support [at] lorm [dot] com. We will verify your identity before responding, which may require you to confirm information associated with your account or email address. You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf; we will require proof of the agent's authority and may require you to verify your identity directly. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights and will respond within the time required by applicable law. If we process personal information solely on behalf of another organization under a governing agreement, we may direct your request to that organization or assist it in responding.
| |

Performance of a contract (or steps at your request before entering into one): to provide the Services you have requested, administer accounts and respond to inquiries.
| |
Legitimate interests: to operate, secure and improve the Services; to communicate with existing customers and business contacts; to conduct research; and to protect our rights. We balance these interests against your rights and freedoms.
| |
