Players combine seven mixed Bengali base letters—independent vowels and consonants—with vowel signs, hasanta, conjuncts, and diacritics to discover approved words while always using the center letter. The current demo uses a small hand-curated local dictionary and stores progress in the browser. It is not a complete Bengali dictionary. There is no backend in this phase. ## Text model Composition is stored as a history of individual user actions and rendered through normal Unicode shaping. Delete reverses exactly one action. A hive vowel becomes its dependent sign after a consonant (`আ + ক + আ + র → আকার`). Dictionary comparisons use NFC normalization. ## Game and dictionary rules - Words require at least three playable units and must contain the center hive symbol. A dependent vowel sign counts as its corresponding hive vowel. - Hive letters may mix independent vowels and consonants, and may repeat. Dependent vowel signs, hasanta, diacritics, ra-phala, and ya-phala are orthographic operators rather than hive letters. - An independent vowel such as `আ` can satisfy a hive requirement; its dependent sign `◌া` cannot. - য/র after hasanta use the corresponding hive letters and count normally. `ং` and `ৎ` may also be hive symbols. - A three-unit word earns one point; longer words earn one point per unit. A seven-symbol pangram earns seven bonus points when present, but pangrams are not required. - The answer list is editorially curated. It includes common standard Bengali words and specifically approved common inflections or loanwords; it excludes proper nouns, spaces, hyphens, punctuation, digits, offensive terms, and unusually obscure forms. - Dictionary entries are NFC-normalized and reviewed per puzzle. The demo dictionary is intentionally small and is not presented as a complete Bengali lexicon. ## Development Install dependencies: ```bash npm install ``` Start the local development server: ```bash npm run dev ``` Then open [http://localhost:3000](http://localhost:3000). ## Quality checks ```bash npm run lint npm run build ``` ## Production ```bash npm run build ``` The production build is exported as a static site in `out/` for deployment to Hugging Face Spaces.
