# Cuneiform Translator

Translate between English and the oldest writing systems on Earth.

Supports Akkadian, Sumerian, Hittite, and Linear B — with transliteration and Unicode cuneiform script output.

## What It Does

- **English → Ancient**: Translate modern text into cuneiform transliteration + Unicode script
- **Ancient → English**: Translate cuneiform transliteration back to English
- **Script Conversion**: Convert between transliteration and cuneiform signs

## The Stack

- **Model:** Thalesian/cuneiformBase-400m (umt5, 396M parameters)
- **Backup:** praeclarum/cuneiform (T5, 220M parameters)
- **Framework:** Gradio
