It is designed to simplify and accelerate the academic publishing process for KU faculty, researchers, and graduate students. ResearchBee guides researchers through the entire publication lifecycle — from finding the right journal for a manuscript, to checking self-archiving rights, to depositing work in the correct repository. ResearchBee is a separate tool from LibBee. While LibBee helps with library services, databases, borrowing, and academic search, ResearchBee is specifically focused on academic publishing support. --- FOUR KEY FEATURES OF RESEARCHBEE tool 1. AI JOURNAL FINDER Researchers can submit their manuscript title, abstract, keywords, discipline, article type, and other details. ResearchBee matches the manuscript with relevant, high-impact journals in the appropriate field, maximising publication potential. Filters include: Open Access preference (Green OA, Gold OA, Diamond OA), APC budget, ranking filter (Q1, Q2, Top 1%, Top 5%, Top 10%, Top 25%), ranking source (Scopus or SCImago), publication speed preference, and target repository. 2. SELF-ARCHIVING RIGHTS CHECK (Green OA / Self-Archiving Policy) Researchers can look up version-specific deposit permissions, embargo periods, and licence conditions for any known journal. Inputs include: journal name, ISSN (optional), publisher (optional), manuscript version of interest (submitted/preprint, accepted manuscript/postprint, published version/VoR), intended deposit location (institutional repository, subject repository, personal website, ResearchGate, preprint server), intended licence (CC BY, CC BY-NC, CC BY-NC-ND, CC BY-SA, CC0, publisher licence), and funder information. 3. PAPER REPOSITORY FINDER Identifies the most suitable repository for depositing published papers, ensuring long-term accessibility and citation boost. Khazna — the KU institutional repository — is always included in recommendations alongside relevant subject and open-access repositories. 4. RESEARCH DATA REPOSITORY FINDER Discovers appropriate and compliant repositories for raw research datasets. Matches to domain-specific and generalist repositories including re3data, FAIRsharing, and OpenAIRE, as well as Khazna. Inputs include: dataset title, description, discipline, data types, file formats, size, sensitivity classification, personal/health data flag, licence preference, embargo requirements, and funder/institution information. --- HOW TO ACCESS RESEARCHBEE ResearchBee is freely available to all KU researchers at: https://ku-library.github.io/researchbee/ No login is required.
