**To create an application**

The following ``create-application`` example creates an application in AWS AppConfig. ::

    aws appconfig create-application \
        --name "example-application" \
        --description "An application used for creating an example."

Output::

    {
        "Description": "An application used for creating an example.",
        "Id": "339ohji",
        "Name": "example-application"
    }
