# Welcome to the Small Language Model Consortium, an initiative by [OpenCerebral](https://huggingface.co/OpenCerebral)! 🤗

The **Small Language Model Consortium (SLM Consortium)** is an initiative dedicated to the advancement and betterment of the SLM community. We aim to promote **cooperation, research, and development** in the field of small language models.

## Leadership

More leadership positions will be added as the organization grows.

Currently, leaders are appointed because the organization is still small. In the future, some positions will become **elected positions**, allowing members to vote for their leaders.

## Membership

To become a member, you must be ratified by **a member in a verified leadership role, as seen above**.

Sounds difficult? It isn't!

The process is simple:

1. Open a discussion on this README titled **"New Member Ratification: [Username]"**.
2. Wait for a leader to either approve you or deny you (you will likely be approved, or told to come back later!)
