# Social, Mobile, Data & Crowd (SMDC) Laboratory
Founded in 2008 at the Department of Mathematical, Computer, and Physical Sciences of the University of Udine, the **SMDC Lab** explores how people and intelligent systems interact through data, language, and crowds.

Our research covers key areas such as **Crowdsourcing**, **Natural Language Processing**, and the **evaluation of Information Retrieval systems**. More recently, we've extended our focus to **Large Language Models**, studying their behavior, applications, and how to evaluate them effectively.
