Design notes
------------
Components load lazily. Each accessor materialises its component on first use and
caches it, so an OCR-only caller never pulls the 28 GB brain. Set
`config.lazy_load=False` to force everything up front.
Every method returns the interfaze wire shapes -- four-corner `bounds`, OCR
`sections[].lines[].words[]`, `{text, chunks}` -- via the shared `contracts` module,
so this and the Dockerised service cannot drift apart.
This is the reference implementation. It runs the brain through plain `transformers`,
which means no paged attention and no continuous batching. For throughput, serve the
brain with vLLM using the container in the GitHub repo; the perception components are
identical either way.
