🔴 GEMINI API KEY ISSUE - URGENT FIX NEEDED

Problem Identified

Your Gemini API key is NOT working!

All model attempts failed:

• ❌ gemini-pro
• ❌ gemini-1.5-pro
• ❌ gemini-1.5-flash
• ❌ gemini-1.5-flash-latest

Possible Reasons:

1. API Key Invalid

• Key might be expired
• Key might be for wrong project
• Typo in the key

2. Quota Exceeded

• Free tier limit reached
• Daily request limit exceeded

3. API Key Not Activated

• Gemini API not enabled in Google Cloud Console

🚀 SOLUTION - Get New API Key

Step 1: Go to Google AI Studio

URL: https://aistudio.google.com/app/apikey

Step 2: Create New API Key

1. Click "Create API Key"
2. Select "Create API key in new project" (or existing)
3. Copy the NEW key

Step 3: Update .env File

Replace in backend/.env:

GEMINI_API_KEY=your_new_api_key_here

Step 4: Restart Backend

# Stop current server (Ctrl+C in backend terminal)
cd backend
npm run dev

⚡ Quick Test After New Key

cd backend
node test-gemini.js

You should see:

✅ SUCCESS: gemini-pro works!
   Response: Hello

Current API Key (First/Last 5 chars):

AIzaS...cGcFw

This key is NOT working! Get a new one from Google AI Studio.

Alternative: Use OpenAI Instead

If Gemini keeps failing, we can switch to OpenAI:

1. Get OpenAI API key: https://platform.openai.com/api-keys
2. Install: npm install openai
3. I'll update the code to use GPT-4
