Hi @karambos ,
if you relaunch the command AutoModel.from_pretrained (or whatever you are using) then transformers will check whether some of the shards are already in your downloading cache, and download only the ones that have not been downloaded/downloaded entirely.

Do you mean:
model = AutoModelForVision2Seq.from_pretrained("HuggingFaceM4/idefics2-8b")
model = AutoModel.from_pretrained("HuggingFaceM4/idefics2-8b") (modification in the code)

yes, any call to from_pretrained would trigger the downloading logic I described :)
