here comparisom from old and new VAE, using image to video, same prompts and same setting, same seed.

btw the quality much better if you don't use I2V technic, I2V not reliable if you looking for high quality result, but it's enough for entertain your kid because of easier and faster to make one.

I ended up using both vae versions. old one yields more realistic (less obvious morphing but somewhat blurry) videos that are suitable for further upscale using other models.
for now, I prefer wan 2.2 for wide shots like in your examples. ltx-2 is great for close-up shots.
Edit: you might get better results if u generate intermidiate frames with flux.krea/z-image/qwen image/etc and use image2video strategy.
