Partial Commercial Usage for your model

I am developing a Quran application that includes reading, recitation recognition, and pronunciation feedback.
I would like to use the following model:
Muno459/fastconformer-quran
The recitation feature will be completely free. However, the overall application is supported by advertising, such as ads appearing occasionally when users navigate between verses. Users will not be charged specifically for using your model.
I noticed that the repository header states NPL-1.0, while the model card currently states CC-BY-4.0. Could you please confirm in writing which license applies to the current model weights, ONNX files, pronunciation head, tokenizer, and Tajweed code?
If NPL-1.0 applies, may I have permission to use these components in my ad-supported Quran application?
I will provide clear attribution to you, Quran-Lab, NVIDIA, and the relevant datasets according to your requirements.

First, the licence confusion is my fault and you are right to flag it. The authoritative licence for this repo is the one in the header: NPL-1.0 (Quran-Lab No-Profit License), and it covers all of it, the weights, the ONNX files, the pronunciation head, the tokenizer and the tajweed code. The CC-BY-4.0 you saw further down the card refers to the upstream NVIDIA FastConformer base and the EveryAyah dataset, which keep their own terms for those original portions. It was never meant to license my fine-tuned weights. I will fix that wording so nobody else hits the same confusion, barakallah feek for catching it.
On your actual question, I am sorry to say no. An ad-supported app is not permitted under NPL-1.0. The licence allows you to recover the strictly necessary direct running costs (compute, storage, bandwidth) with no margin and no profit. Advertising is revenue, even when the recitation feature itself is free and users are never charged for it directly. So I cannot confirm the sentence you quoted.
What is permitted, and you are very welcome to it: the same application with no ads and no paid tier, free to end users, recovering direct hosting costs only.
If the ad-supported model is essential to you, that would need a separate written arrangement rather than the public licence, so feel free to reach out and we can talk about it.
