The manual routing part resonated. Haiku for this, Ollama for that, it works but it's a lot of babysitting for something that should just happen in the background.
We've been building something for that. Manifest, an open-source plugin for OpenClaw. It is free and runs locally as in cloud. We launched it last month it's already used be thousands of users. Most of them were mentioning the same problem you do: the high costs without and how painful it is to set up an efficient routing.
