Better Sample Images

I appreciate all the hard work you guys have put into this model! It is really cool.

However, I think it would be even better if for the sample images you stopped using sexualized images of women, and had images with more diversity in gender. It would make an otherwise great work stronger.

wtf you talking about? Where do you see sexualised women? go away liar.

The first comment raised a reasonable concern about representation in a public research repository. @gemstonebro Responding with insults is unproductive and unprofessional.

For people who don’t experience this issue personally, it may not stand out, but for many women in ML, repeated exposure to sexualized example imagery in professional spaces is very noticeable and can be very uncomfortable. The sample image choices send a clear signal about who the intended audience is, and to me, it doesn't read as though the authors intended for the audience to include women. Research is meant to be a broadly welcoming community. Not every person who sees this repo has to feel personally offended for this to be a valid concern; the issue is about aggregate impact and professional norms, not individual reactions.

No one is saying that the content is explicit or contains nudity, but that's not what "sexualized" means. The sample images disproportionately depict young women (especially in revealing clothing), posed in positions that emphasize their attractiveness. It would be beneficial for both the authors and the audience to have sample images that instead show diverse people, scenes, or objects that demonstrate the full range of technical capabilities of the model.

These got to be troll posts right?

It is insulting to lie. You must apologise for blaming me for the way i spoke to that person. Its extremely awful thing to lie. There is not even a female in bikini, no big boobs nothing! Its absolutely okay to bash people who lie to such extreme degree!

There is nothing lewd or any shape or form sexual. Absolutely nothing even remote close to being sexual.

THATS WHY its ok to bash that person, or even ban from platform. You cant make up lies.

Where is reasonable concern? im going to report you as a liar - there is not a single picture that might be of any way concerning.

I believe programmers just release the images they consider "beautiful."

watching too much porn can cloud your judgment. In these cases, seeing something like cleavage or thighs may cause your brain to interpret it sexually rather than simply appreciating the beauty or recognizing it as just a human body part.

The charm of open source lies in respecting authors and everyone's preferences and ideas. If you don't like it, you can leave, instead of imposing your values on the public and authors; that's disgusting.

Can't find a thing about z-image to criticize on and start criticizing sample images.

STOP bringing your wokeness to programming/software development. If you don't like it, create and release your own and use all the images in the world you like that you think are non-sexualized. FFS

You can create your own Pull Request, and generate the 'diverse' images you thinks are appropriate, and replace the original ones yourself. we would welcome that.
