The boring constraints might be the best feature

Element constraints won't win a flashy demo contest, but they make the workflow feel grounded. Sometimes the real requirement is simply 'anything except that expensive element.' What kinds of inclusion and exclusion rules can the interface express?

Well said β€” "anything except that expensive element" is one of the most common real-world constraints, and exclusion is a first-class part of the interface.
Currently supported:
Exclusion: remove any element or element group from the search space (e.g., exclude Co entirely for cost or supply reasons)
Inclusion: require specific elements in the composition
Element pools: require at least one element from a set (e.g., at least one of W, Mo, Nb as the refractory component)
Range-level constraints (e.g., "Al between 5–12 at%") are on the near-term roadmap. The quickest way to see the rules in action is the Spaces demo β€” free to try, and the accompanying manual walks through worked examples including exclusion-driven searches.
If your use case needs a rule type we don't cover yet, describe it here β€” concrete requirements directly shape our priority list.
