The Bitter Aloe Project develops customized machine learning (ML) models to extract data from records produced by South Africa’s Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC). This work enhances the legibility of the TRC’s archive by providing the public the ability to visualize structured data extracted from these texts. Our research outputs are free for non-commercial use. Reproduction of any material derived from our datasets must be accompanied by proper citation.
