BMAD Method Integration

Overview

The BMAD Method (Breakthrough Method of Agile AI Driven Development) has been successfully installed into the Echo Prime project. BMAD is an AI-driven agile development framework that provides:

  • 21+ Specialized Agents: Domain experts including PM, Architect, Developer, UX, Scrum Master, and more
  • 50+ Guided Workflows: Structured processes for analysis, planning, architecture, and implementation
  • Scale-Adaptive Intelligence: Automatically adjusts planning depth based on project complexity
  • Complete Development Lifecycle: From brainstorming to deployment

Installation Location

BMAD has been installed in: /Users/noone/echo_prime/bmad/

Key Features

1. AI Intelligent Help

  • Run /bmad-help to get guided assistance from beginning to end
  • Ask questions like:
    • /bmad-help How should I build a web app that can scale to millions?
    • /bmad-help I just finished the architecture, what should I do next?

2. Quick Path (For Simple Tasks)

For bug fixes, small features, and clear scope:

  1. /quick-spec — Analyzes codebase and produces tech-spec with stories
  2. /dev-story — Implements each story
  3. /code-review — Validates quality

3. Full Planning Path (For Complex Projects)

For products, platforms, and complex features:

  1. /product-brief — Define problem, users, and MVP scope
  2. /create-prd — Full requirements with personas, metrics, and risks
  3. /create-architecture — Technical decisions and system design
  4. /create-epics-and-stories — Break work into prioritized stories
  5. /sprint-planning — Initialize sprint tracking
  6. Repeat per story: /create-story/dev-story/code-review

Getting Started

Prerequisites

  • Node.js v20+ (required for BMAD CLI)

Installation Steps

  1. Install Node.js dependencies (if not already installed):

    cd /Users/noone/echo_prime/bmad
    npm install

  2. Run BMAD installer (to set up in your project):

    cd /Users/noone/echo_prime/bmad
    npx bmad-method install

  3. Start using BMAD:

    • Open your AI IDE (Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, etc.)
    • Run /bmad-help to get started
    • Choose Quick Path or Full Planning Path based on your needs

Integration with Echo Prime

BMAD can enhance Echo Prime development by:

  1. Structured Development: Use BMAD workflows to plan and implement new Echo Prime features
  2. Agent Collaboration: Leverage BMAD's specialized agents for different aspects of development
  3. Quality Assurance: Use built-in code review and testing workflows
  4. Documentation: Maintain comprehensive project documentation through BMAD's structured approach

Example Workflows for Echo Prime

Adding a New Feature

/quick-spec # Analyze Echo Prime codebase
/dev-story # Implement the feature
/code-review # Review the implementation

Major Architecture Changes

/product-brief # Define the change and impact
/create-prd # Detail requirements
/create-architecture # Design the new architecture
/create-epics-and-stories # Break down the work
/sprint-planning # Plan the implementation
