clarification please
so i've been hearing a rumor that preview 2 will be the last iteration of this model because the creator can't work on it due to time constraints. i can't find anything about this anywhere and instead of bashing my head against the internet i figured i'd just create a comment here and ask what's going on. really excited to see this model improve.
If what you're referring to is that one image of a HuggingFace post saying something like "I am putting Anima development on standby", it's inspect elemented and not real.

i haven't seen the image myself. some people in a discord server I'm in were talking about it though, saying the model likely won't receive any more updates, also saying the creator got hired by alibaba. glad to hear it's likely not real though.
Rumors are just rumors, don't worry about baseless claims. He appears to have no notable activity other than his Hugging Face account and X account. Also, based on his X profile, he seems to be residing in the United States. That's quite a distance from Alibaba.
I highly doubt it as the whole point of previews is to have a preview before the full version. So there's probably more iterations to come as it gets more mature and trained. The only thing that might be a pain is when people make LORAs and checkpoints for that certain version but then a new one comes out It may not work as intended.

According to the apparent screenshot it was thread #39 and from almost 2 months ago before the release of preview2. The fact, that preview2 got released already proves that it was a fake screenshot.
