๐Ÿ•น๏ธ Reachy Remote

A remote control for Reachy Mini that runs entirely in your browser โ€” laptop, tablet or phone. No install, no Python, no server.

Open the app, sign in with Hugging Face, pick your robot, and you get:

  • Live camera view from the robot's eyes
  • Head pad โ€” drag to aim the head (left/right and up/down), plus a tilt slider
  • Body rotation โ€” the head turns with the body
  • Antenna sliders for each antenna (positive = outward), with an optional mirror switch
  • Emotes โ€” Nod, Shake, Curious, Happy, Explore, Surprised
  • Face tracking โ€” let Reachy follow your face
  • Puppet mode โ€” motors go soft so you can pose Reachy by hand
  • Wake / Sleep and speaker volume
  • Keyboard shortcuts (see below)

When you end the session, Reachy smoothly returns to its rest pose.

Requirements

  • A wireless Reachy Mini, powered on and signed in to the same Hugging Face account you use in the browser (that's how the robot shows up in the list).
  • A modern browser (Chrome, Edge, Safari, Firefox).

Keyboard shortcuts

Key Action
Arrow keys Aim head
Q / E Tilt head left / right
A / D Rotate body left / right
1 โ€“ 6 Play emotes
H Return to home pose
T Toggle face tracking

Try it without a robot

Add ?demo=1 to the app's URL to open the interface with a simulated robot. Every command is shown in the activity log instead of being sent to hardware.

How it works

Reachy Remote is a static web page hosted as a Hugging Face Space. It uses Pollen Robotics' official JavaScript SDK (@pollen-robotics/reachy-mini-sdk@1.8.0), loaded from a CDN:

  • The SDK's host shell handles Hugging Face sign-in, the robot picker and the top bar.
  • Once a robot is picked, the app connects over WebRTC directly to the robot for video and motor commands.

Files:

File Purpose
index.html Page shell, theme bootstrap, OAuth placeholders
app.js Boot logic: host shell, embedded app, or demo mode
remote.js The whole remote-control UI and robot logic
mock-robot.js Fake robot used by demo mode
style.css Styles (light and dark themes)
public/icon.svg App icon (catalog tile, top bar, favicon)

See PUBLISHING.md for how to run it locally and publish updates.
