Turn a sentence into palette-locked pixel art—locally on your Mac.

Bilta Gilata1 is a free Apple-Silicon pixel-art CLI with 65 Aseprite palettes, reference-image guidance, deterministic seeds, and exact 16–256 px output. No API key, credits, or uploaded prompts.

Why use it?

• Actually local: generation runs on Apple Silicon.
• Exact palettes: output is quantized to one of 65 Aseprite palettes.
• PICO-8 ready: includes the official 16-color palette option.
• Reference images: guide composition and character appearance from a local file.
• Reproducible: reuse --seed to regenerate a composition.
• Game-sized: export at 16, 32, 48, 64, 128, or 256 pixels.

Install

Requirements

• Apple Silicon Mac
• Python 3.10+
• About 5 GB free for the first model download
• Internet required only for the initial download

This repository distributes the Bilta runtime and palette post-processor, not third-party model weights. Review THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md, including the upstream non-commercial checkpoint terms, before commercial use or redistribution.
