Chat template difference between Ring and Ling

I noticed that the Ling series of models have complex chat templates that support system messages, tools, and reasoning. Whereas Ring's chat template is much simpler. Is this intentional?
I noticed that llama.cpp does not properly parse Ring's thinking tokens and instead of fixing that with a hack, I decided to ask you if it should be fixed upstream.
