I like the way this article cuts through to the end-game of tool calling, but the idea of using tools is limiting what an agent can perform while still giving it access to do enough so that when it's handed unexpected input it still knows enough to solve a problem that wasn't planned for. Also the whole point of MCP is to not have to search and write schemas for the results of various API's or find/create python functions yourself. You give a task to an agent, find the MCP server(s) most appropriate for the task, and you're done.
