Who is this useless product for?
I’d like to draw developers’ attention to a very simple truth, using my own situation as an example: I have two RTX 5090s—which is undoubtedly not enough—but I could get two more. The thing is, though: as long as this doesn’t work on Windows, no sane person will ever use it. It’s not a question of money or practicality—it’s a matter of principle.
It’s not even about this specific product—AI developers usually use only Linux, so there will never be any demand for it; in essence, you’re developing products that are doomed to obscurity from the moment you start building them—it’s just pointless
@Tim33 as you know, it is a framework, not a finished product - what developers do with it is up to the developer to decide; assuming they won't build anything that can be used with windows is a bit obtuse.
Also, if you are serious about development yourself, you will use whatever platform is available; open-source doesn't mean 'for the casual user'; claiming the project is doomed to obscurity seems strange to me.
@Drixpy Wild... Are kids even allowed on HF?
holy moly just dont use the model if you dont want to

this is an incredible sentence to write directly under a free open-source research release 😂
which part made you think the target user was someone with two 5090s and a Windows install? 'will it run on my gaming rig' isn't really the brief lol
A: It's for linux users with access to local or cloud hosted nvidia GPU's for applications including game development, synthetic training data generation, etc.
It's also free so I'm not sure what we're complaining about here.
