LoopTool: Closing the Data-Training Loop for Robust LLM Tool Calls

Augmenting Large Language Models (LLMs) with external tools enables them to execute complex, multi-step tasks. However, tool learning is hampered by the static synthetic data pipelines where data generation and model training are executed as two separate, non-interactive processes. This approach fails to adaptively focus on a model's specific weaknesses and allows noisy labels to persist, degrading training efficiency. We introduce LoopTool, a fully automated, model-aware data evolution framework that closes this loop by tightly integrating data synthesis and model training. LoopTool iteratively refines both the data and the model through three synergistic modules: (1) Greedy Capability Probing (GCP) diagnoses the model's mastered and failed capabilities; (2) Judgement-Guided Label Verification (JGLV) uses an open-source judge model to find and correct annotation errors, progressively purifying the dataset; and (3) Error-Driven Data Expansion (EDDE) generates new, challenging samples based on identified failures. This closed-loop process operates within a cost-effective, open-source ecosystem, eliminating dependence on expensive closed-source APIs. Experiments show that our 8B model trained with LoopTool significantly surpasses its 32B data generator and achieves new state-of-the-art results on the BFCL-v3 and ACEBench benchmarks for its scale. Our work demonstrates that closed-loop, self-refining data pipelines can dramatically enhance the tool-use capabilities of LLMs.

ScaleEdit-12M: Scaling Open-Source Image Editing Data Generation via Multi-Agent Framework

Instruction-based image editing has emerged as a key capability for unified multimodal models (UMMs), yet constructing large-scale, diverse, and high-quality editing datasets without costly proprietary APIs remains challenging. Previous image editing datasets either rely on closed-source models for annotation, which prevents cost-effective scaling, or employ fixed synthetic editing pipelines, which suffer from limited quality and generalizability. To address these challenges, we propose ScaleEditor, a fully open-source hierarchical multi-agent framework for end-to-end construction of large-scale, high-quality image editing datasets. Our pipeline consists of three key components: source image expansion with world-knowledge infusion, adaptive multi-agent editing instruction-image synthesis, and a task-aware data quality verification mechanism. Using ScaleEditor, we curate ScaleEdit-12M, the largest open-source image editing dataset to date, spanning 23 task families across diverse real and synthetic domains. Fine-tuning UniWorld-V1 and Bagel on ScaleEdit yields consistent gains, improving performance by up to 10.4% on ImgEdit and 35.1% on GEdit for general editing benchmarks and by up to 150.0% on RISE and 26.5% on KRIS-Bench for knowledge-infused benchmarks. These results demonstrate that open-source, agentic pipelines can approach commercial-grade data quality while retaining cost-effectiveness and scalability. Both the framework and dataset will be open-sourced.

GUIrilla: A Scalable Framework for Automated Desktop UI Exploration

Autonomous agents capable of operating complex graphical user interfaces (GUIs) have the potential to transform desktop automation. While recent advances in large language models (LLMs) have significantly improved UI understanding, navigating full-window, multi-application desktop environments remains a major challenge. Data availability is limited by costly manual annotation, closed-source datasets and surface-level synthetic pipelines. We introduce GUIrilla, an automated scalable framework that systematically explores applications via native accessibility APIs to address the critical data collection challenge in GUI automation. Our framework focuses on macOS - an ecosystem with limited representation in current UI datasets - though many of its components are designed for broader cross-platform applicability. GUIrilla organizes discovered interface elements and crawler actions into hierarchical GUI graphs and employs specialized interaction handlers to achieve comprehensive application coverage. Using the application graphs from GUIrilla crawler, we construct and release GUIrilla-Task, a large-scale dataset of 27,171 functionally grounded tasks across 1,108 macOS applications, each annotated with full-desktop and window-level screenshots, accessibility metadata, and semantic action traces. Empirical results show that tuning LLM-based agents on GUIrilla-Task significantly improves performance on downstream UI tasks, outperforming synthetic baselines on the ScreenSpot Pro benchmark while using 97% less data. We also release macapptree, an open-source library for reproducible collection of structured accessibility metadata, along with the full GUIrilla-Task dataset, the manually verified GUIrilla-Gold benchmark, and the framework code to support open research in desktop autonomy.

PaVeRL-SQL: Text-to-SQL via Partial-Match Rewards and Verbal Reinforcement Learning

Text-to-SQL models allow users to interact with a database more easily by generating executable SQL statements from natural-language questions. Despite recent successes on simpler databases and questions, current Text-to-SQL methods still suffer from low execution accuracy on industry-scale databases and complex questions involving domain-specific business logic. We present PaVeRL-SQL, a framework that combines Partial-Match Rewards and Verbal Reinforcement Learning to drive self-improvement in reasoning language models (RLMs) for Text-to-SQL. To handle practical use cases, we adopt two pipelines: (1) a newly designed in-context learning framework with group self-evaluation (verbal-RL), using capable open- and closed-source large language models (LLMs) as backbones; and (2) a chain-of-thought (CoT) RL pipeline with a small backbone model (OmniSQL-7B) trained with a specially designed reward function and two-stage RL. These pipelines achieve state-of-the-art (SOTA) results on popular Text-to-SQL benchmarks -- Spider, Spider 2.0, and BIRD. For the industrial-level Spider2.0-SQLite benchmark, the verbal-RL pipeline achieves an execution accuracy 7.4\% higher than SOTA, and the CoT pipeline is 1.4\% higher. RL training with mixed SQL dialects yields strong, threefold gains, particularly for dialects with limited training data. Overall, PaVeRL-SQL delivers reliable, SOTA Text-to-SQL under realistic industrial constraints. The code is available at https://github.com/PaVeRL-SQL/PaVeRL-SQL.
