Measuring Primitive Accumulation: An Information-Theoretic Approach to Capitalist Enclosure in PIK2, Indonesia

Large-scale land enclosure for speculative mega-development constitutes a non-equilibrium spatial process whose velocity, topology, and irreversibility remain poorly quantified. We study the Pantai Indah Kapuk 2 (PIK2) coastal mega-development north of Jakarta, Indonesia, using eight years (2017--2024) of Sentinel-2 land-use/land-cover (LULC) data at 10-meter resolution. The landscape is projected onto a Marxian probability simplex partitioning terrestrial pixels into Commons, Agrarian, and Capital fractions. Fisher-Rao (FR) geodesic distances on this simplex identify a transformation pulse of 0.405~rad/yr during 2019--2020, coinciding with major construction activity. Absorbing Markov chain analysis yields expected absorption times into the built environment of 46.0~years for cropland and 38.1~years for tree cover, with a pooled built-area self-retention rate of 96.4%. Percolation analysis reveals that a giant connected component containing 89--95% of all built pixels persists at occupation probabilities p in [0.096, 0.162], far below the random percolation threshold p_c approx 0.593, indicating planned rather than stochastic spatial growth. The box-counting fractal dimension of the urban boundary increases from d_f = 1.316 to 1.397, consistent with increasingly irregular frontier expansion. These results suggest that information-geometric and statistical-mechanical tools can characterize the kinematic and topological signatures of capitalist spatial accumulation with quantitative precision.

A2Z-10M+: Geometric Deep Learning with A-to-Z BRep Annotations for AI-Assisted CAD Modeling and Reverse Engineering

Reverse engineering and rapid prototyping of computer-aided design (CAD) models from 3D scans, sketches, or simple text prompts are vital in industrial product design. However, recent advances in geometric deep learning techniques lack a multi-modal understanding of parametric CAD features stored in their boundary representation (BRep). This study presents the largest compilation of 10 million multi-modal annotations and metadata for 1 million ABC CAD models, namely A2Z, to unlock an unprecedented level of BRep learning. A2Z comprises (i) high-resolution meshes with salient 3D scanning features, (ii) 3D hand-drawn sketches equipped with (iii) geometric and topological information about BRep co-edges, corners, and surfaces, and (iv) textual captions and tags describing the product in the mechanical world. Creating such carefully structured, large-scale data, which requires nearly 5 terabytes of storage to leverage unparalleled CAD learning/retrieval tasks, is very challenging. The scale, quality, and diversity of our multi-modal annotations are assessed using novel metrics, GPT-5, Gemini, and extensive human feedback mechanisms. To this end, we also merge an additional 25,000 CAD models of electronic enclosures (e.g., tablets, ports) designed by skilled professionals with our A2Z dataset. Subsequently, we train and benchmark a foundation model on a subset of 150K CAD models to detect BRep co-edges and corner vertices from 3D scans, a key downstream task in CAD reverse engineering. The annotated dataset, metrics, and checkpoints will be publicly released to support numerous research directions.

CAD-MLLM: Unifying Multimodality-Conditioned CAD Generation With MLLM

This paper aims to design a unified Computer-Aided Design (CAD) generation system that can easily generate CAD models based on the user's inputs in the form of textual description, images, point clouds, or even a combination of them. Towards this goal, we introduce the CAD-MLLM, the first system capable of generating parametric CAD models conditioned on the multimodal input. Specifically, within the CAD-MLLM framework, we leverage the command sequences of CAD models and then employ advanced large language models (LLMs) to align the feature space across these diverse multi-modalities data and CAD models' vectorized representations. To facilitate the model training, we design a comprehensive data construction and annotation pipeline that equips each CAD model with corresponding multimodal data. Our resulting dataset, named Omni-CAD, is the first multimodal CAD dataset that contains textual description, multi-view images, points, and command sequence for each CAD model. It contains approximately 450K instances and their CAD construction sequences. To thoroughly evaluate the quality of our generated CAD models, we go beyond current evaluation metrics that focus on reconstruction quality by introducing additional metrics that assess topology quality and surface enclosure extent. Extensive experimental results demonstrate that CAD-MLLM significantly outperforms existing conditional generative methods and remains highly robust to noises and missing points. MindTopo: Can Foundation Models Reason in Topological Space?

Spatial reasoning depends not only on metric properties such as distance, angle, and shape, but also on topological relations that remain invariant under continuous deformation. Cognitive science identifies these relations as foundational to spatial understanding, yet foundation-model evaluations largely focus on metric or viewpoint-dependent relations. We introduce MindTopo, a benchmark of topological intuition across five properties grounded in cognitive science and formal topology: continuity, separation, order, enclosure, and knots. MindTopo evaluates each property at two cognitive levels. Reasoning asks a model to identify topological relations or infer how they change. Planning instantiates a foundation model as a closed-loop agent whose policy selects environment actions. MindTopo contains 11,030 instances across 13 procedurally generated task types with controllable difficulty. We benchmark 14 MLLMs and study agent configurations augmented with image and video generation, including 3 video generative models in planning settings. Every MLLM performs better on reasoning than on planning, and the best-performing model remains far below observed human performance. On Qwen3-VL-2B-Instruct, supervised fine-tuning and reinforcement learning improve reasoning more than planning. Generated observations retain local cues and reach plausible endpoints, but audited rollouts do not reliably follow environment dynamics or preserve topology across transitions.
