Self Consistent Thermal Resummation: A Case Study of the Phase Transition in 2HDM

An accurate description of the scalar potential at finite temperature is crucial for studying cosmological first-order phase transitions (FOPT) in the early Universe. At finite temperatures, a precise treatment of thermal resummations is essential, as bosonic fields encounter significant infrared issues that can compromise standard perturbative approaches. The Partial Dressing (or the tadpole resummation) method provides a self consistent resummation of higher order corrections, allowing the computation of thermal masses and the effective potential including the proper Boltzmann suppression factors and without relying on any high-temperature approximation. We systematically compare the Partial dressing resummation scheme results with the Parwani and Arnold Espinosa (AE) ones to investigate the thermal phase transition dynamics in the Two-Higgs-Doublet Model (2HDM). Our findings reveal that different resummation prescriptions can significantly alter the nature of the phase transition within the same region of parameter space, confirming the differences that have already been noticed between the Parwani and AE schemes. Notably, the more refined resummation prescription, the Partial Dressing scheme, does not support symmetry non-restoration in 2HDM at high temperatures observed using the AE prescription. Furthermore, we quantify the uncertainties in the stochastic gravitational wave (GW) spectrum from an FOPT due to variations in resummation methods, illustrating their role in shaping theoretical predictions for upcoming GW experiments. Finally, we discuss the capability of the High-Luminosity LHC and proposed GW experiments to probe the FOEWPT-favored region of the parameter space.

Clifford algebra Cl(0,6) approach to beyond the standard model and naturalness problems

Is there more to Dirac's gamma matrices than meets the eye? It turns out that gamma zero can be factorized into a product of three operators. This revelation facilitates the expansion of Dirac's space-time algebra to Clifford algebra Cl(0,6). The resultant rich geometric structure can be leveraged to establish a combined framework of the standard model and gravity, wherein a gravi-weak interaction between the extended vierbein field and the extended weak gauge field is allowed. In conjunction with the composite Higgs model, we examine the vierbein field as a Cooper-pair-like fermion-antifermion condensation. Quantum gravity is realized indirectly via the quantized standard model spinor fields which underlie the composite space-time metric. We propose that the fundamental energy scales of the universe including the Planck scale are emergent and resulted from quantum condensations, thus possibly addressing the cosmological constant problem through an unconventional multi-scale renormalization procedure for multiplications of divergent Feynman integrals. The Clifford algebra approach also permits a weaker form of charge conjugation without particle-antiparticle interchange, leading to a Majorana-type mass that conserves lepton number. Additionally, with reshuffling the traditional quark-lepton pairing pattern of three generations of fermions, we explore a three-Higgs-doublet model with Higgs VEVs 246 GeV, 42 GeV and 2.5 GeV which could explain the mass hierarchies of fermions.

An Infinite Family of Non-Rational VOAs from Strongly Coupled 4d Higgsless SCFTs

We study an infinite family of strongly coupled four-dimensional mathcal N=2 superconformal field theories (SCFTs) distinguished by a trivial Higgs branch, known as the (A_2,D_{3m+1}) Argyre-Douglas theories. We propose that their associated vertex operator algebras (VOAs) are the doublet algebras mathcal A(4m+2), an infinite family of non-rational vertex operator superalgebras with a remarkably simple strong generating set of only three fields. We provide several highly nontrivial checks of this proposal. In particular, we reproduce the four-dimensional conformal anomalies a and c from the VOA and analytically prove the exact equality between the Schur index of the SCFT and the supercharacter of the VOA. A key ingredient is a diagonal-gauging realization of the (A_2,D_{3m+1}) theories in terms of two simpler building blocks, which makes the Schur-index computation tractable. Remarkably, we find that the resulting Schur index of the (A_2,D_{3m+1}) theory coincides with that of mathcal N=4 SU(2) Super-Yang-Mills theory, up to an overall prefactor and an appropriate identification of fugacities. We also discuss a generalization to the two-parameter family (A_{2s},D_{(2s+1)m+1}), whose members likewise have trivial Higgs branches and admit diagonal-gauging realizations. A particularly interesting subfamily is (A_{2s},D_{2s+2}), for which the four-dimensional conformal anomalies coincide, a=c. Our results reveal a systematic connection between Higgsless SCFTs, diagonal gauging, and strongly finite but non-rational vertex operator algebras.

Non-Holomorphic Impact on t-b-τ Yukawa Unification in minimal GMSB

We study and explore the low scale implications of Yukawa unification in the minimal gauge mediated supersymmetry breaking models. We also assume non-zero non-holomorphic terms, with which the YU solutions can be accommodated in the cases with μ> 0. These results can be considered a direct effect from the non-holomorphic terms, but they also lead to testable low scale implications compatible with YU. We observe abundant solutions consistent with the Higgs boson mass. This constraint leads to heavy strongly interacting supersymmetric particles, while the electroweak sector can be realized relatively lighter and they can be probed by several experiments. We find that the chargino can be lighter than 1 TeV and it is degenerate with the lightest neutralino in most of such solutions. Consistent solutions in this region can accommodate charginos as light as about 120 GeV, and they will be tested more likely soon by the analyses over the compressed spectra. These solutions are also be subjected in the lifetime analyses. Our analyses identify such light charginos decaying in about 10^{-2} ns. Probing such points may need a slight improvement in sensitivity of the analyses, and one can expect them to be tested very soon. In the same region, stau is realized to be another light supersymmetric particle, and some of the solutions can be inconsistently lighter. We find that it can weigh as light as about 600 GeV consistently, and it can be tested also soon over its lifetime. We summarize and also exemplify our findings with five benchmark scenarios. Most of the benchmark solutions also reveal that the solutions can be tested in heavy Higgs boson searches, which shape the whole Higgs boson spectrum in models.

On the Higgs spectra of the 3-3-1 model with the sextet of scalars engendering the type II seesaw mechanism

In the 3-3-1 model with right-handed neutrinos, three triplets of scalars engender the correct sequence of symmetry breaking, SU(3)_C times SU(3)_L times U(1)_X rightarrow SU(3)_C times SU(2)_L times U(1)_Y rightarrow SU(3)_C times U(1)_{EM}, generating mass for all fermions, except neutrinos. Tiny neutrino masses may be achieved by adding one sextet of scalars to the original scalar content. As consequence, it emerges a very complex scalar sector, involving terms that violate lepton number explicitly, too. The main obstacle to the development of the phenomenology of such scenario is the knowledge of its spectrum of scalars since, now, there are 15 massive scalar particles on it. The proposal of this work is to do an exhaustive analysis of such scalar sector with lepton number being explicitly violated at low, electroweak and high energy scales by means of trilinear terms in the potential. The first case can be addressed analytically and, as a nice result, we have observed that the scalar content of such case is split into two categories: One belonging to the 331 energy scale and the other belonging to the EWSB energy scale, with the last recovering the well known THDM+triplet. For the other cases, the scalar sector can be addressed only numerically. Hence, we proposed a very general approach for the numerical study of the potential, avoiding simplifications that can make us reach conclusions without foundation. We show that, in the case of lepton number being explicitly violated at electroweak scale, it is possible to recover the same physics of the THDM+triplet, as the previous case. Among all the possibilities, we call the attention to one special case which generates the 3HDM+triplet scenario. For the last case, when lepton number is violated at high energy scale, the sextet become very massive and decouples from the original scalar content of the 3-3-1 model.

A mechanism to generate varying speed of light via Higgs-dilaton coupling: Theory and cosmological applications

We allow the Higgs field Phi to interact with a dilaton field chi of the background spacetime via the coupling chi^2,Phi^daggerPhi. Upon spontaneous gauge symmetry breaking, the Higgs VEV becomes proportional to chi. While traditionally this linkage is employed to make the Planck mass and particle masses dependent on chi, we present an textit alternative mechanism: the Higgs VEV will be used to construct Planck's constant hbar and speed of light c. Specifically, each open set vicinity of a given point x^* on the spacetime manifold is equipped with a replica of the Glashow-Weinberg-Salam action operating with its own effective values of hbar_* and c_* per hbar_*proptochi^{-1/2}(x^*) and c_*proptochi^{1/2}(x^*), causing these ``fundamental constants'' to vary alongside the dynamical field chi. Moreover, in each open set around x^*, the prevailing value chi(x^*) determines the length and time scales for physical processes occurring in this region as lproptochi^{-1}(x^*) and tauproptochi^{-3/2}(x^*). This leads to an textit anisotropic relation tau^{-1}propto l^{-3/2} between the rate of clocks and the length of rods, resulting in a distinct set of novel physical phenomena. For late-time cosmology, the variation of c along the trajectory of light waves from distant supernovae towards the Earth-based observer necessitates modifications to the Lema\^itre redshift relation and the Hubble law. These modifications are capable of: (1) Accounting for the Pantheon Catalog of SNeIa through a declining speed of light in an expanding Einstein--de Sitter universe, thus avoiding the need for dark energy; (2) Revitalizing Blanchard-Douspis-Rowan-Robinson-Sarkar's CMB power spectrum analysis that bypassed dark energy [A&A 412, 35 (2003)]; and (3) Resolving the H_0 tension without requiring a dynamical dark energy component.

Higgs-Induced Gravitational Waves: the Interplay of Non-Minimal Couplings, Kination and Top Quark Mass

We explore a minimal scenario where the sole Standard-Model Higgs is responsible for reheating the Universe after inflation, produces a significant background of gravitational waves and maintains the full classical stability of the electroweak vacuum. As the Higgs self-coupling runs toward negative values at high energy scales, a non-minimal interaction with curvature during a stiff background expansion era drives the Higgs fluctuations closer to the instability scale. This curvature-induced tachyonic instability leads to an intense production of Higgs particles, accompanied by a stochastic gravitational-wave background. The characteristic features of such signal can be directly correlated to the inflationary scale, the non-minimal coupling parameter and the top quark Yukawa coupling. We distinguish between three possible scenarios: absolute stability with low top quark masses, potential vacuum instability, and absolute stability with new physics above the instability scale. Our findings suggest that the detection of a peaked background of gravitational waves together with its inflationary tail has the potential to unveil the features of the Higgs effective potential at very high energy scales while providing a minimal explanation for the reheating phase and the emergence of the Standard-Model plasma in the early Universe. Unlike other studies in the literature, the generation of gravitational waves in our scenario does not depend on the quantum instability of the Standard Model vacuum.

More on the Weak Gravity Conjecture via Convexity of Charged Operators

The Weak Gravity Conjecture has recently been re-formulated in terms of a particle with non-negative self-binding energy. Because of the dual conformal field theory (CFT) formulation in the anti-de Sitter space the conformal dimension Delta (Q) of the lowest-dimension operator with charge Q under some global U(1) symmetry must be a convex function of Q. This property has been conjectured to hold for any (unitary) conformal field theory and generalized to larger global symmetry groups. Here we refine and further test the convex charge conjecture via semiclassical computations for fixed charge sectors of different theories in different dimensions. We analyze the convexity properties of the leading and next-to-leading order terms stemming from the semiclassical computation, de facto, extending previous tests beyond the leading perturbative contributions and to arbitrary charges. In particular, the leading contribution is sufficient to test convexity in the semiclassical computations. We also consider intriguing cases in which the models feature a transition from real to complex conformal dimensions either as a function of the charge or number of matter fields. As a relevant example of the first kind, we investigate the O(N) model in 4+epsilon dimensions. As an example of the second type we consider the U(N)times U(M) model in 4-epsilon dimensions. Both models display a rich dynamics where, by changing the number of matter fields and/or charge, one can achieve dramatically different physical regimes. We discover that whenever a complex conformal dimension appears, the real part satisfies the convexity property.

Anomaly-mediated Scalar Gravitational Interactions and the Coupling of Conformal Sectors

We investigate the anomaly-induced activation of a gauge-invariant scalar degree of freedom in General Relativity, the conformalon mode, directly at the level of \(2\to2\) scattering amplitudes. The analysis couples anomalous three-point functions of conformal sectors, involving gravitons \((TTT)\) and Abelian gauge currents \((TJJ)\), through single-graviton exchange derived from the quadratic expansion of the Einstein--Hilbert action. Unlike related treatments based on the nonlocal anomaly action, these interactions are suppressed by the Planck scale. We show that the conformalon, invariant under linearized diffeomorphisms, admits an interpretation as an effective scalar correction to scattering amplitudes, both in virtual exchange channels and in effective real-emission processes. Around flat space, this behaviour arises from anomaly-induced nonlocal massless insertions on the external graviton and photon legs of the three-point functions, sewn through the scalar component of the graviton propagator in de Donder gauge. The resulting anomaly-mediated \(4\)-point interaction reduces to contact terms, with the Planck mass setting the suppression scale. The construction consistently matches the spin decomposition of flat-space conformal Ward identities in momentum space, which determine the vertices, with the corresponding spin decomposition of the graviton propagator. In the eikonal limit, these interactions generate contact corrections to the leading logarithmic phase in impact-parameter space. We further show that anomaly-mediated \(2\to2\) graviton amplitudes associated with the virtual exchange of such modes exhibit a characteristic double-copy structure.

What Shape is the Inflationary Bispectrum?

Non-linear interactions during inflation generate non-Gaussianities in the distribution of primordial curvature. In many theories, the physics is scale-invariant, such that the induced three-point function depends solely on a dimensionless shape function S(x,y)sim k^6B_ζ(kx,ky,k). To confront such models with observations, one typically builds specialized estimators for each shape, then applies them to cosmic microwave background datasets at significant computational expense. In this Letter, we take a different approach, directly reconstructing S(x,y) from observations using an efficient logarithmically-binned estimator in primordial-space (motivated by the modal program). Applying this to temperature and polarization maps from Planck, we obtain high-resolution shape measurements across the full (x,y)-plane, including squeezed limits. Our approach is close-to-optimal, highly interpretable, and preserves the information content on (optimally-analyzed) standard templates within approx 10%; moreover, we can use it to assess the scale-dependence of our constraints, finding that Planck is sensitive to approx 6 e-folds of non-Gaussian evolution with a peak sensitivity around 0.1h,Mpc^{-1}. Since we work directly in shape-space, data and theory can be compared in milliseconds. As an example, we perform a search for massive particle exchange using a suite of over 20,000 theoretical templates computed with exact bootstrap methods (for the first time) across a wide range of masses, spins, and sound-speeds; the spin-two analysis yields a maximum significance of 2.6σ. Our approach can be used to probe a wide range of scale-invariant models in orders-of-magnitude less time than with direct estimators, allowing the inflationary paradigm to be explored in new ways.

Measurement of the properties of Higgs boson production at s = 13 TeV in the Htoγγ channel using 139 fb^{-1} of pp collision data with the ATLAS experiment

Measurements of Higgs boson production cross-sections are carried out in the diphoton decay channel using 139 fb^{-1} of pp collision data at s = 13 TeV collected by the ATLAS experiment at the LHC. The analysis is based on the definition of 101 distinct signal regions using machine-learning techniques. The inclusive Higgs boson signal strength in the diphoton channel is measured to be 1.04^{+0.10}_{-0.09}. Cross-sections for gluon-gluon fusion, vector-boson fusion, associated production with a W or Z boson, and top associated production processes are reported. An upper limit of 10 times the Standard Model prediction is set for the associated production process of a Higgs boson with a single top quark, which has a unique sensitivity to the sign of the top quark Yukawa coupling. Higgs boson production is further characterized through measurements of Simplified Template Cross-Sections (STXS). In total, cross-sections of 28 STXS regions are measured. The measured STXS cross-sections are compatible with their Standard Model predictions, with a p-value of 93%. The measurements are also used to set constraints on Higgs boson coupling strengths, as well as on new interactions beyond the Standard Model in an effective field theory approach. No significant deviations from the Standard Model predictions are observed in these measurements, which provide significant sensitivity improvements compared to the previous ATLAS results.

Analytic Solution for the Helicity Evolution Equations at Small x and Large N_c&N_f

We construct an exact analytic solution of the revised small-x helicity evolution equations, where the contributions of the quark-to-gluon and gluon-to-quark transition operators were newly included. These evolution equations are written in the large-N_c&N_f limit and are double-logarithmic, resumming powers of alpha_sln^2(1/x). Here N_c and N_f are the numbers of quark colors and flavors, while alpha_s is the strong coupling constant and x is the Bjorken-x variable. Using our solution, we obtain analytic expressions for the flavor singlet quark and gluon helicity parton distribution functions (PDFs) and for the g_1 structure function as double-inverse Laplace transforms. We also extract analytic expressions for the four DGLAP polarized anomalous dimensions Delta gamma_{qq}, Delta gamma_{qG}, Delta gamma_{Gq}, and Delta gamma_{GG}: these expressions resum powers of alpha_s/omega^2 to all orders at large-N_c&N_f (with omega the Mellin moment variable). We extract the leading small-x growth of the helicity distributions, align \Delta\Sigma(x,Q^2) \sim \Delta G(x,Q^2)\sim g_1(x,Q^2) \sim \left(1{x}\right)^{\alpha_h}, align where the intercept alpha_h satisfies an algebraic equation. We determine alpha_h numerically for various values of N_c and N_f. We further obtain the explicit asymptotic expressions for the helicity distributions, which yield numerical values for the ratio of the gluon helicity PDF to the flavor singlet quark helicity PDF in the small-x asymptotic limit (for different N_f/N_c). We find that all our predictions for polarized DGLAP anomalous dimensions are fully consistent with the existing finite-order calculations. Similar to the large-N_c case, our intercept alpha_h exhibits a very slight disagreement with the predictions made within the infrared evolution equations framework.

Nonreciprocal black holes with primary hair in beyond Horndeski gravity: Exact solutions and stability

We develop a novel systematic method for constructing exact, static, and asymptotically flat black-hole solutions in shift-symmetric and Z_2-symmetric beyond Horndeski theories. In contrast to previous studies, our approach does not rely on the restrictive reciprocal condition g_{tt}g_{rr}=-1, allowing for more general geometries characterized by two independent metric functions. The resulting solution space contains two qualitatively distinct types of hair originating from different branches of the theory. One branch is characterized by khronometric hair, while the other by genuine scalar hair. In both, the scalar profile defines a nontrivial preferred foliation, but the shift-symmetry Noether current and the associated propagating degree of freedom are trivial for the former and nonvanishing for the latter. Focusing mainly on the second branch, we derive several distinct families of exact black-hole solutions. In general, these solutions are singular and exhibit primary scalar hair associated with an independent scalar charge. Nevertheless, we demonstrate that they can be regularized to yield regular black-hole or solitonic configurations, for which the scalar hair becomes secondary. We further investigate the stability properties of these solutions under linear perturbations by analyzing the axial sector and the monopole (ell=0) mode of the even-parity sector. For representative solutions with scalar hair, the perturbative analysis provides evidence for linear stability under the modes considered.

Large Landscape of 4d Superconformal Field Theories from Small Gauge Theories

We systematically explore the space of renormalization group flows of four-dimensional N=1 superconformal field theories (SCFTs) triggered by relevant deformations, as well as by coupling to free chiral multiplets with relevant operators. In this way, we classify all possible fixed point SCFTs that can be obtained from certain rank 1 and 2 supersymmetric gauge theories with small amount of matter multiplets, identifying 7,346 inequivalent fixed points which pass a series of non-trivial consistency checks. This set of fixed points exhibits interesting statistical behaviors, including a narrow distribution of central charges (a, c), a correlation between the number of relevant operators and the ratio a/c, and trends in the lightest operator dimension versus a/c. The ratio a/c of this set is distributed between 0.7228 and 1.2100, where the upper bound is larger than that of previously known interacting SCFTs. Moreover, we find a plethora of highly non-perturbative phenomena, such as (super)symmetry enhancements, operator decoupling, non-commuting renormalization group flows, and dualities. We especially identify amongst these fixed points a new SCFT that has smaller central charges (a, c) = (633{2000},683{2000}) than that of the deformed minimal Argyres-Douglas theory, as well as novel Lagrangian duals for certain N=1 deformed Argyres-Douglas theories. We provide a website https://qft.kaist.ac.kr/landscape to navigate through our set of fixed points.

EFT Validity and Truncation Uncertainty from few Nuisance Parameters

An observable in an Effective Field Theory (EFT) is an expansion in a set of small parameters, no different than any other perturbation series. Truncating such a series expansion leaves the leading dropped term as the dominant source of error, and that term itself contains a calculable portion. We explore the partial calculation of this next-order error, available at dim-6^2 in SMEFT with no additional tools needed to simulate it, and explore how to efficiently use that partial calculation to model the next-order uncertainty in full using a minimal number of nuisance parameters. This estimate of the uncertainty of the EFT signal rate naturally imposes EFT validity by ensuring that bounds are driven by kinematic regions where truncation uncertainties are parametrically smaller than the signal. We incorporate the calculable dim-6^2 piece into the signal and cover the remaining higher-dimension uncertainty with a small set of nuisance parameters derived from a scan over Wilson-coefficient values. Our algorithm to determine the relevant nuisance parameters and distributions is automation-friendly and applies to arbitrary truncation choices. We then provide multiple examples of its implementation in high-energy collider processes focused on SMEFT truncated at O(Λ^{-2}), where the dim-6^2 piece is used to estimate the full mathcal O(Λ^{-4}) dependence. In the examples considered here the reduction of nuisance parameters is appreciable, generically reducing the nuisance parameter count by an order of magnitude compared to naïve estimates.

Inflationary Attractors Predictions for Static Neutron Stars in the Mass-Gap Region

In this work we study static neutron stars in the context of several inflationary models which are popular in cosmology. These inflationary models are non-minimally coupled scalar theories which yield a viable inflationary phenomenology in both Jordan and Einstein frames. By considering the constraints from inflationary theories, which basically determine the values of the potential strength, usually considered as a free parameter in astrophysical neutron star works, we construct and solve the Tolman-Oppenheimer-Volkoff equations using a solid python-3 LSODA integrator. For our study we consider several popular inflationary models, such as the universal attractors, the R^p attractors (three distinct model values), the induced inflation, the quadratic inflation, the Higgs inflation and the a-attractors (two distinct model values) and for the following popular equations of state the WFF1, the SLy, the APR, the MS1, the AP3, the AP4, the ENG, the MPA1 and the MS1b. We construct the M-R diagram and we confront the resulting theory with theoretical and observational constraints. As we demonstrate, remarkably, all the neutron stars produced by all the inflationary models we considered are compatible with all the constraints for the MPA1 equation of state. It is notable that for this particular equation of state, the maximum masses of the neutron stars are in the mass-gap region with M>2.5M_{odot}, but lower than the 3 solar masses causal limit. We also make the observation that as the NICER constraints are pushed towards larger radii, as for example in the case of the black widow pulsar PSR J0952-0607, it seems that equations of state that produce neutron stars with maximum masses in the mass gap region, with M>2.5M_{odot}, but lower than the 3 solar masses causal limit, are favored and are compatible with the modified NICER constraints.

Kinematical correlations via κ-Poincaré coproducts

We study a kinematical consequence of the Hopf-algebraic momentum composition law in κ-Minkowski spacetime. The same curved momentum space can be described in different coordinates. In the bicrossproduct basis the ordered-plane-wave labels are the translation-generator eigenvalues, so the relevant map is one-to-one. In the classical basis, instead, the translation eigenvalues P_μ are nonlinearly related to the ordered-plane-wave labels p_μ. This relation can fail to be globally one-to-one in a high-momentum region. When a given classical-basis four-momentum admits more than one real auxiliary preimage, the branch-sensitive quantity P_+equiv P_0+P_4=κe^{p_0/κ} enters the coproduct and resolves the branches in two-particle states. Imposing the vanishing total-momentum constraint therefore gives branch-dependent κ-deformed back-to-back momentum correlations. In a single-branch regime this is just a deformed correlated product, while in a multibranch regime a state specified only by P_μ can be expanded into distinct auxiliary branches. If P_μ are taken as the directly meaningful momenta, the physical content is the resulting deformed correlation pattern. If the auxiliary variables p_μ are assigned operational meaning, the same constrained state can be interpreted as a superposition over different auxiliary branches. We also compare this structure with standard regular self-adjoint nonrelativistic minimal-length models and find no analogous smooth local two-real-branch inversion on their physical domains.

Non-Gaussianity in D3-brane inflation

We update predictions for observables in the "delicate" D3/anti-D3 inflationary model on the conifold. We use a full CMB likelihood calculation to assess goodness-of-fit, which is necessary because in this model the zeta power spectrum often cannot be modelled as a power-law over observable scales. For the first time we are able to provide accurate forecasts for the amplitude of three-point correlations. In a significant portion of its parameter space the model follows Maldacena's single-field prediction fNL ~ -(5/12)(ns-1) if nt << 1. Therefore |fNL| is usually small when the power spectrum satisfies observational constraints. In a small number of cases the bispectrum is instead dominated by effects from rapid switching between angular minima. The resulting amplitudes are larger, but mostly with unacceptable spectral behaviour. In the most extreme case we obtain |fNLeq| ~ 75 at kt/3 = 0.002/Mpc. It has been suggested that the quasi-single field inflation ("QSFI") mechanism could produce significant 3-point correlations in this model. We do observe rare shifts in amplitude between equilateral and squeezed configurations that could possibly be associated with QSFI effects, but more investigation is needed to establish the full bispectrum shape. There is evidence of "shape" running between equilateral and squeezed configurations that may be inherited from the scale dependence of the spectrum. We explore the dependence of observables on discrete choices such as the truncation point of the potential. Our analysis illustrates the advantages of a standard format for information exchange within the inflationary model-building and testing community.

Detecting eclipsing double white dwarfs with electromagnetic and gravitational waves

Galactic double white dwarfs are predominant sources of gravitational waves in the millihertz frequencies accessible to space-borne gravitational wave detectors. With advances in multi-messenger astronomy, an increasing number of double white dwarf systems will be discovered through both electromagnetic and gravitational wave observations. In this paper, we simulated two populations of double white dwarfs originating from different star formation histories (hereafter referred to as Model 1 and Model 2) using the binary population synthesis method. We predicted the number of double white dwarfs in our Galaxy detectable by TianQin and Laser Interferometer Space Antenna (LISA) individually, as well as through their joint observation. In addition, we performed an analysis to evaluate the accuracy of the parameter estimation using the Fisher information matrix. Furthermore, we predicted the number of detached eclipsing double white dwarfs detectable by Gaia and the Vera C. Rubin Observatory (VRO). Our study found that over the nominal mission durations, TianQin, LISA, and their joint observation can detect at least five thousand and potentially several tens of thousands of double white dwarfs with signal-to-noise ratios greater than 7. Gaia and VRO are expected to detect at least several dozen and up to several hundred eclipsing double white dwarfs with orbital periods less than 30 hours. We also found that several dozen eclipsing double white dwarfs can be detected jointly through electromagnetic and gravitational wave observations.

A noncommutative Bianchi I model with radiation

In the present work, we study the dynamical evolution of an homogeneous and anisotropic, noncommutative (NC) Bianchi I (BI) model coupled to a radiation perfect fluid. Our first motivation is determining if the present model tends to an homogeneous and isotropic NC Friedmann-Robertson-Walker (FRW) model, during its evolution. In order to simplify our task, we use the Misner parametrization of the BI metric. In terms of that parametrization the BI metric has three metric functions: the scale factor a(t) and the two parameters beta_pm (t), which measure the spatial anisotropy of the model. Our second motivation is trying to describe the present accelerated expansion of the universe using noncommutativity (NCTY). The NCTY is introduced by two nontrivial Poisson brackets between some geometrical as well as matter variables of the model. We recover the description in terms of commutative variables by introducing some variables transformations that depend on the NC parameter. Using those variables transformations, we rewrite the total NC Hamiltonian of the model in terms of commutative variables. From the resulting Hamiltonian, we obtain the dynamical equations for a generic perfect fluid. In order to solve these equations, we restrict our attention to a model where the perfect fluid is radiation. We solve, numerically, these equations and compare the NC solutions to the corresponding commutative ones. The comparison shows that the NC model may be considered as a possible candidate for describing the accelerated expansion of the universe. Finally, we obtain estimates for the NC parameter and compare the main results of the NC BI model coupled to radiation with the same NC BI model coupled to other perfect fluids. As our main result, we show that the solutions, after some time, produce an isotropic universe.

Solar System Experiments in the Search for Dark Energy and Dark Matter

We reassess the realistic discovery reach of Solar-System experiments for dark energy (DE) and dark matter (DM), making explicit the bridge from cosmology-level linear responses to local, screened residuals. In scalar-tensor frameworks with a universal conformal coupling A(phi) and chameleon/Vainshtein screening, we map cosmological responses {mu(z,k),Sigma(z,k)} inferred by DESI and Euclid to thin-shell or Vainshtein residuals in deep Solar potentials Phi_N. We emphasize a two-branch strategy. In a detection-first branch, a verified local anomaly -- an Einstein equivalence principle (EEP) violation, a Shapiro-delay signal with |gamma-1|simfewtimes 10^{-6}, an AU-scale Yukawa tail, or a ultralight DM (ULDM) line in clocks/atom interferometers in space (AIS) -- triggers a joint refit of cosmology and Solar-System data under a common microphysical parameterization {V(phi),A(phi)}. In a guardrail branch, Solar-System tests enforce constraints (EEP; PPN parameters gamma, beta; and dot G/G) and close unscreened or weakly screened corners indicated by cosmology. We forecast, per conjunction, |gamma-1|lesssim (2-5)times 10^{-6} (Ka-/X-band or optical Shapiro), eta_{EEP}sim (1--10)times 10^{-17} (drag-free AIS), |dot G/G|sim(3-5)times10^{-15},yr^{-1} (sub-mm-class LLR), a uniform ~2x tightening of AU-scale Yukawa/DM-density bounds, and (3-10)times improved ULDM-coupling reach from clocks. For a conformal benchmark, mu_{ lin,0}=0.10 implies chisimeq mu_{lin,0/2} and a Sun thin shell Delta R/Rlesssim (1/3chi)|gamma-1|/2=2.4times 10^{-3} at |gamma-1|=5times 10^{-6}; Vainshtein screening at 1 AU yields |gamma-1|lesssim 10^{-11}, naturally below near-term reach. We recommend a cost-effective guardrail+discovery portfolio with explicit triggers for escalation to dedicated missions.

Complementary Probes of Warped Extra Dimension: Colliders, Gravitational Waves and Primordial Black Holes from Phase Transitions

We study the formation of primordial black holes (PBHs) and stochastic gravitational waves background (SGWB) produced by the supercooled radion phase transition (PT) in warped extra-dimension models solving the gauge hierarchy problem. We first determine how the SGWB and the produced PBH mass and abundance depend on the warped model's infrared energy scale rho, and the number of holographic colors N. With this finding, we recast on the plane {rho, N} the current SGWB and PBH constraints, as well as the expected parameter reaches of GW detectors, as LISA and ET, and the gravitational lensing ones, such as NGRST. On the same plane, we also map the collider bounds on massive graviton production, and cosmological bounds on the radion phenomenology. We find that, for N sim 10-50, the considered PT predicts a PBH population mass in the range M_{rm PBH}sim(10^{-1} - 10^{-25}) M_{odot} for rho sim (10^{-4} - 10^{8}) TeV. In the range rho simeq (0.05 - 0.5) GeV, it can explain the recent SGWB hint at nHz frequencies and generate PBH binaries with mass M_{rm PBH}sim(0.1 - 1 ) M_odot detectable at LISA and ET. The experimentally allowed mass region where PBHs can account for the whole dark matter abundance, and are produced with a tuning lesssim 10^{-4}, corresponds to 10 TeV lesssim rholesssim 10^4 TeV. These PBHs can compensate the lack of natural candidates for dark matter in warped extra dimensional models. Such a region represents a great science case where forthcoming and future colliders like HE-LHC and FCC-hh, gravitational-wave observatories and other PBHs probes play a key complementary role.

Warm-Inflation: a software for first-principles integration of warm inflation power spectra

As part of a PhD thesis entitled `Scalar perturbations in warm inflation and during reheating' we present a software for computing warm inflation observables. In particular, our Mathematica implementation computes the power spectrum, spectral tilt, and tensor-to-scalar ratio for a given momentum scale. Compared with other implementations, we start in a Bunch-Davies state deep inside the horizon, ideally at a time when thermal noise is exponentially suppressed. We integrate gauge-invariant equations for three curvature perturbations across horizon exit. We continue deep enough outside of horizon so that all curvature perturbations agree. Results are illustrated for Standard Model embedded warm inflation, and we also provide notebooks for several other popular potentials and friction coefficients. The theoretical foundations for the code can be found in the main part of the thesis or in earlier papers [1,2]. Specifically, part II derives gauge-invariant, model-agnostic evolution equations, as well as the noise autocorrelator interpolating between quantum and classical domains. Part III presents the general ideas behind the numerical implementation, while part IV presents selected results. The code is described, line-by-line, in Appendix A. The published PhD thesis is available at https://doi.org/10.48620/101166 while the notebooks can be downloaded from https://github.com/alicarogeljblackhole/Warm-Inflation.

Core and Halo Properties in Multi-Field Wave Dark Matter

In this work, we compute multi-field core and halo properties in wave Dark Matter models. We focus on the case where Dark Matter consists of two light (real) scalars, interacting gravitationally. As in the single-field Ultra Light Dark Matter (ULDM) case, the scalar field behaves as a coherent BEC with a definite ground state (at fixed total mass), often referred to in the literature as a gravitational soliton. We establish an efficient algorithm to find the ground and excited states of such two-field systems. We then use simulations to investigate the gravitational collapse and virialization, starting from different initial conditions, into solitons and surrounding halo. As in the single-field case, a virialized halo forms with a gravitational soliton (ground state) at the center. We find some evidence for an empirical relation between the soliton mass and energy and those of the host halo. We use this to then find a numerical relation between the properties of the two. Finally, we use this to address the issue of alleviating some of the tensions that single-field ULDM has with observational data, in particular, the issue of how a galaxy's core and radius are related. We find that if galaxies of different masses have similar percentages of the two species, then the core-radius scaling tension is not addressed. However, more general possibilities occur if the relative abundance of species in each halo correlates with the total mass of the galaxy. If this is the case, the model predicts several other phenomenological signatures.

Surface defects in N=4 Super Yang-Mills: exact results and holographic bootstrap

We study two-point functions of chiral primary operators in N=4 Super Yang-Mills in the presence of a half-BPS surface defect. Such a defect preserves only the diagonal combination of transverse rotations and of a global U(1) R-symmetry, so that the correlator depends on one additional cross-ratio and splits into sectors of definite angular charge. We solve the superconformal Ward identities and construct the bulk and defect superconformal blocks in all sectors, including the charged ones, which have no analogue for defects preserving transverse rotations. The solution contains a holomorphic sector, which we fix non-perturbatively by mapping it to a chiral algebra correlator. We extend this map to defects breaking transverse rotations, where it requires a redefinition of the modes of the two-dimensional current algebra, and use it to fix the charged sectors as well. We then use the defect dispersion relation to reconstruct the full correlator of the dimension-two chiral primary at leading order at large N and strong coupling. In the charged sectors long multiplets are absent and the answer is conjecturally exact in both N and the coupling; expanding it at weak coupling, we find perfect agreement with known results. From these correlators we extract infinitely many new pieces of defect CFT data. Finally, we reproduce the strong-coupling answer by an independent Witten diagram bootstrap on the rotation-invariant locus.

Massive On-shell Splitting Functions in Spinor-Helicity Formalism

Collinear splitting functions govern parton evolution, parton showers, and resummation at high-energy colliders. While on-shell spinor-helicity methods have successfully yielded massless QCD splitting functions, a complete on-shell construction for massive particles, systematically incorporating finite-mass effects, is less developed. We present an on-shell constructive formalism for massive collinear splitting functions based on Soper-Weinberg collinear spinors, whose transformation properties follow from a light-front Galilean subgroup of the Poincaré group. Decomposing massive momenta and spinors with respect to fixed lightlike vectors n and bar n makes the expansion in the alignment regime m<p_Tll p_+ manifest. The leading-order structures are matched to massless three-point amplitudes, while an additional Higgs momentum along bar n probes the subleading spinor components and relates them to massless four-point amplitudes. We derive the complete set of leading and subleading massive splitting functions for all Standard Model particles and establish a systematic matching dictionary between massless and massive coupling coefficients at both the three- and four-point levels. Higher-point splitting functions are obtained through the recursive bootstrap relation with a universal substitution rule as a consequence of the Galilean symmetry. This constructive framework extends naturally to effective field theory operators and higher perturbative orders, providing a flexible computational tool for precision collider physics and parton shower development.

Stark effect of hydrogenic ions as a test of the indefinite-metric formalism of the eight-component relativistic wave equation for spin-1{2} particles

The eight-component relativistic wave equation for spin-1{2} particles of Robson and Staudte (FV1{2}), a Feshbach--Villars linearization of the Feynman--Gell-Mann equation, reproduces the Dirac hydrogenic spectrum with a doubled solution space and an indefinite inner product. Its exact Stark shifts must equal the Dirac ones; whether its indefinite-metric perturbation theory delivers them is not guaranteed. We compute the first- and second-order Stark shifts of the n=1--3 levels of hydrogenic ions from H to U^{91+} in the Schrödinger, Dirac and FV1{2} theories, evaluating all spectral sums, continuum included, by the Dalgarno--Lewis method. The FV1{2} and Dirac shifts coincide level by level, to working precision at first order (closed-form roots) and to 45 significant figures at second order. Both ingredients are needed: without the explicit spin--field coupling the first-order roots become complex, and without the negative-norm states the (Zα)^2 coefficient is wrong. Norm sign and parity are locked in the doubled space: a potential lifting the 2s_{1/2}--2p_{1/2} degeneracy needs its own spin--gradient term, and shifts placed by hand on the κ-labeled states give a spurious imaginary linear Stark shift. The relativistic linear Stark effect is smaller by finite factors, but a second-moment sum rule shows the non-relativistic linear Stark strength is conserved, the missing part reappearing in singular (Zα)^{-2} second-order terms. For levels with a fine-structure partner, an exact intra-shell/regular split of the second-order shift gives the (Zα)^0 coefficients analytically and relates the π^2 terms of the (Zα)^2 coefficients to the singular ones. The Dirac weak/strong-field crossover for n=2 of hydrogen lies near 2.8~kV cm^{-1}, and the perturbative window set by the fine structure grows as Z^5.

A new tool to search for physics beyond the Standard Model in {bar B}to D^{*+}ell^- {barν}

Recent experimental results in B physics from Belle, BaBar and LHCb suggest new physics (NP) in the weak bto c charged-current and the bto s neutral-current processes. Here we focus on the charged-current case and specifically on the decay modes Bto D^{*+}ell^- barν with ell = e, μ, and τ. The world averages of the ratios R_D and R_D^{*} currently differ from the Standard Model (SM) by 3.4σ while ΔA_{FB} = A_{FB}(Bto D^{*} μν) - A_{FB} (Bto D^{*} e ν) is found to be 4.1σ away from the SM prediction in an analysis of 2019 Belle data. These intriguing results suggest an urgent need for improved simulation and analysis techniques in Bto D^{*+}ell^- barν decays. Here we describe a Monte Carlo Event-generator tool based on EVTGEN developed to allow simulation of the NP signatures in Bto D^*ell^- ν, which arise due to the interference between the SM and NP amplitudes. As a demonstration of the proposed approach, we exhibit some examples of NP couplings that are consistent with current data and could explain the ΔA_{FB} anomaly in Bto D^*ell^- ν while remaining consistent with other constraints. We show that the Δ-type observables such as ΔA_{FB} and ΔS_5 eliminate most QCD uncertainties from form factors and allow for clean measurements of NP. We introduce correlated observables that improve the sensitivity to NP. We discuss prospects for improved observables sensitive to NP couplings with the expected 50 ab^{-1} of Belle II data, which seems to be ideally suited for this class of measurements.

A Numerical Realization of Suzuki's Weil-Quadratic-Form Operator: The Archimedean Spectral Law, its Universality, and an Operator Form of Weil's Positivity Criterion

This paper presents the first numerical realization of Suzuki's Weil-Quadratic-Form operator, a candidate for the Hilbert--Pólya program linking spectral positivity to the Riemann Hypothesis (RH). Suzuki's 2026 construction was purely theoretical; here, the operator is instantiated via P1 finite-element discretization and Richardson extrapolation. Key results include: (R1) In the prime-free regime, the spectrum follows a closed Archimedean law A_k(a) = log(1/a) + log(k-2) + B_0 + O(a), with B_0 = log q - 2log 2, confirmed to 30-digit precision. (R2) A Mellin double-pole argument proves the head coefficient B(ν) and shows B_0 depends only on the conductor q, independent of the Archimedean parameter. (R2b) The degree d of an L-function appears directly as the logarithmic slope of the spectrum. (R3) Total spectral intensity follows the prime number theorem, S(a) sim (2a)^3/6. (R4) Nontrivial zeros are not eigenvalues but occur in the explicit-formula error term of the prime symbol. (R5) The best-match line σ^*(a) descends toward the critical line. (R6) Weil's positivity criterion is realized in operator form: bounded residual growth corresponds to all zeros on the line, while an injected off-line zero causes exponential blow-up. (R7) The lowest eigenvalue λ_1(a) is strictly positive, decays superexponentially, and passes smoothly through the first prime threshold. (R8) The characteristic function W(a,0;z) is computed for the first time, with all zeros confirmed real. (R9) Indirect traces of GUE statistics appear in the moment structure, even where direct detection is blocked. The authors emphasize that this work does not prove RH. All results are Archimedean and universal, with significance lying in the faithful numerical realization of classical identities rather than new arithmetic.

Multiplicity dependence of (multi)strange hadrons in oxygen-oxygen collisions at s_{mathrm{NN}}~=~7 TeV using EPOS4 and AMPT

It is anticipated that the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) will collect data from oxygen-oxygen (O+O) collisions at a center-of-mass energy of s_{mathrm{NN}} = 7 TeV to explore the effects observed in high multiplicity proton-proton (p+p) and proton-lead (p+pb) collisions that closely related to lead-lead (Pb+Pb) collisions. These effects include azimuthal asymmetries in particle production, as well as variations in the abundances and momentum distributions across different hadron species, which are indicative of collective particle production mechanisms induced by the interactions in the presence of a QGP. The upcoming data on O+O collisions at the LHC are expected to constrain the model parameters and refine our understanding of theoretical models. In this work, the predicted transverse momentum (p_T) spectra, rapidity density distributions (dN/dy), particle yield ratios, and p_T-differential ratios of (multi)strange hadrons produced in O+O collisions at s_{mathrm{NN}} = 7 TeV using AMPT and EPOS4 models are presented. AMPT focuses on preformed hadronic interactions, while EPOS4 incorporates a QGP phase. Stronger radial flow in EPOS4 as compared to AMPT is also observed. AMPT incorporates some flow effects, but the implementation of full hydrodynamic flow in EPOS4 appears to be significantly more effective in reproducing the existing experimental data. Both models predict the final state multiplicity overlap with p+p, p+pb, and Pb+Pb collisions.
