Alibaba rolls out revamped Qwen chatbot as model pricing drops
Alibaba, the world's largest e-commerce company, has revamped its Qwen chatbot to keep up with the competition of such advanced chatbots like OpenAI's ChatGPT. Qwen replaces its older Tongyi version and is now also available on both major app stores since last Friday.
Model pricing has dropped, which means that more users may be attracted to these conversational AI agents that can generate meaningful and helpful conversations on several topics. Alibaba, in its descriptions on both app stores, calls Qwen “the most powerful official AI assistant” for its models.
ChatGPT has quickly gained widespread adoption, and now, Alibaba is seeking to keep up with the lightning pace of technological advancements in this field. On the other hand, Tencent, an Alibaba competitor, has also launched its chatbot, TGChat, following the success of OpenAI's ChatGPT.
Alibaba, as well as other tech giants, are aware that the nature of conversations can vary significantly, and the addition of more features through regular updates has become crucial. This constant update is one of the many factors that cement an AI chatbot’s position on the market. In the current fast-paced technological landscape, making a chatbot "must-have" and a palpable presence in almost everyone's life, and Alibaba seems to have understood that agenda.
