As someone who has spent years reporting and writing for San Francisco Chronicle, I can tell you that technology advancements have increased the pace and scope of our jobs. With the advent of Artificial Intelligence (AI), we see a new revolution taking place in the world of journalism.

I must say, when I first heard about AI, I was skeptical. After all, what could a robot possibly know about how to write like a human? My curiosity, however, got the better of me, and I decided to put the technology to the test. After all, anyone can ask a robot to give weather reports or market trends. But journalism requires understanding human emotions, perspectives, and nuances - something machines should not master, right?

So, I decided to ask a popular AI program to write an article in my style, hoping to see just how good its post-GPT-3 algorithms were. I provided my desired word count, the topic, and supposedly, it was supposed to generate an impressive piece that I could use as an exclusive for the Chronicle.

The result was bewildering. The AI tool churned out a story that was more than readable. In fact, it was well written, complete with quotes, insights, and thoughts. I was worn on the one hand and appalled on the other. This modern marvel was able to mold itself according to the specific style guidelines, tone, and angle that I gave it.

But as impressive as this was, there was a nagging feeling that remained. As a trained journalist, there was a part of me that knew AI could only regurgitate facts and data - nothing more. Writing, at its core, demands a personal touch, originality, and depth that no AI system could ever truly embody or
