Apply for a GPU community grant: Academic project
Dear Hugging Face Team,
I am writing to formally request a Community GPU Grant for my Hugging Face Space, Harshit494/BALM-PPI, to support an active academic peer review process.
We recently submitted our paper, "Explainable protein–protein binding affinity prediction via fine-tuning..." to the journal Nature Computational Science. Our manuscript is currently under editorial consideration and is moving toward external peer review.
Our model, BALM-PPI, leverages the massive ESM-2 protein language model backbone and Parameter-Efficient Fine-Tuning (PEFT/LoRA) to predict binding affinities from protein sequences. Because the ESM-2 model is highly computationally intensive, running it on the current free CPU tier causes significant lag and timeouts.
To ensure that the journal's peer reviewers and editors can successfully test, reproduce, and interact with our model without frustrating delays, we are requesting a temporary upgrade to a T4 or A10G GPU.
