Error: "All bubbles failed" when using OpenRouter Free API Key

Hi @Kapanther ,

I am trying to use this Space for manga translation, but I'm running into an issue. Even after providing a valid OpenRouter API Key (free tier), the translation fails with the message: "All bubbles failed".

I have double-checked the key, and it seems to be active. I would like to know:

  1. Is there a specific model in OpenRouter that I should select to avoid this error?

  2. Does the Space have a log where I can see why the API call is being rejected?

I’ve noticed that some other projects use local Python libraries for translation (Deep Learning based, like Argos Translate or EasyNMT) which are free, don't require keys, and are quite fast—though they sometimes struggle with slang.

Would it be possible to implement a fallback to a local translator, or is there a fix for the OpenRouter integration?

Thanks for this amazing tool!

Hello. @maggidev
Thank your for using our tool and for providing feedback. I have checked the errors that you are seeing and it seems like you are using xAI api from openrouter for translation with out any billing plans in openrouter for now can you try using an smaller model ( eg. Gemini 2.5 etc) for the translation and try again.
Make sure you have adjusted the setting to your liking for the best translation and quality.

@kaPANTHER

  1. The mangaocr is not working. Even though I can use the llm option but the manga ocr is giving some wierd symbols instead of the raw texts.
  2. The batch translateion is also not working. It stops at the last page and doesn't give me the all the translated pages to download. Please fix this and thank you for building this.
