Apply for community grant: Academic project (gpu)
Hi huggingface team,
first of all, I want to thank you so much. I love your work and contribution to open-source AI research!
I am a PhD student and research assistant at Hamburg University of Technology, Germany and organize a teaching module this semester with the name "Intelligent Systems in Medicine". I would love to get a grant for hosting a competition on Hugging Face for our students [~60 Master's students in CS].

Next to the lecture and exercise, there is a practical project in which the student have to work together in a group project. In this group project, the students shall use deep learning models to classify and localize surgical instruments during a surgical procedure. The localization of the instruments is a prerequisite to many down stream applications such as autonomous suturing or guiding the surgeons to the area of interest.
As the execution of the deep learning models takes a lot of time and sometimes results in a failed submission due to time-out, I would love to get a grant for GPU usage from ~13.12.2024-01.02.2025 (Duration of the semester).
