first of all, I want to thank you so much. I love your work and contribution to open-source AI research!
I am a PhD student and research assistant at Hamburg University of Technology, Germany and organize a teaching module this semester with the name "Intelligent Systems in Medicine". I would love to get a grant for hosting a competition on Hugging Face for our students [~60 Master's students in CS].

Next to the lecture and exercise, there is a practical project in which the student have to work together in a group project. In this group project, the students shall use foundation models (e.g. grounding Dino from the transformer libary) and Prompt-Engineering to localize surgical instruments during a surgical procedure. The localization of the instruments is a prerequisite to many down stream applications such as autonomous suturing or guiding the surgeons to the area of interest.
The students should use Grounding Dino on around 600 images for Zero Shot bounding Box prediction with prompts. As Grounding Dino needs a GPU for fast enough inference, I would love to get a grant for GPU usage from ~13.12.2024-01.02.2025 (Duration of the semester).
