Spaces:
Running on CPU Upgrade
Apply for a GPU community grant: Academic project
Our MMEB leaderboard has recently stopped running due to quota limits.
I’m writing to ask whether we might be eligible for any grants or additional support to continue operating the leaderboard, as it has become a popular resource for multimodal embedding evaluation.
Thank you!
BTW, I believe the leaderboard is running on free CPU resources, so I’m not entirely sure why it has reached the quota limit. I would appreciate any help on this. Thanks!
Hi @ziyjiang , thanks for reaching out.
Quick clarification on what's happening: the limit you hit isn't a GPU quota. Free organizations can currently run up to 3 cpu-basic Spaces at the same time, and your org already had 3 others running, so this Space was automatically paused. It's not about compute usage, just the number of concurrently running free Spaces. Note that this concurrency limit is a current platform setting and may change over time.
There are a few ways to bring it back on your side: pausing one of the other Spaces, upgrading this Space to a paid hardware tier (a Space on upgraded hardware doesn't count against the free cpu-basic limit), or moving the org to a paid plan such as Team. Since this is a public benchmark that the community relies on, we've gone ahead and granted a cpu-upgrade hardware tier to this Space so it can run independently of that limit. The Space should be back up now.
Let us know if you run into anything else.
Thanks a lot for your detailed reply and for supporting our project!
