Apolithos Studios Grant One Pager
A studio assistant and sound design expert for producers. Ideation and studio support in one place. You stay in control of the record.
The problem
AI music is consolidating into locked platforms. The big generators finish the track for you, then limit what you can own or export. Producers end up renting a black box that returns a mixdown they cannot reopen, reshape, or take seriously into a DAW session.
That misses how records actually get made. Studio time is iterative. You need help with direction, patches, MIDI, and vocal ideas while you are working. The kind of support another person in the room would give. Not a finished song on autopilot.
There is also a tooling gap underneath the song generators. Sound design is where serious records start, and the AI tools that touch that layer are thin, fragmented, or closed. Producers do not need five disconnected widgets. They need one assistant that can sit in the session and pull the right tool when it matters.
The solution
Apolithos is an artist owned browser studio. The AI is a studio assistant and sound design expert. It helps you ideate, get sounds moving, and support studio time. It does what another person in the room would do. It does not generate the record for you.
The studio already has working instruments underneath that role:
Bass Engine turns producer technique into real synth patches you can load and keep working on MIDI Spawner makes melodic MIDI in the browser and exports into any DAW Patch Instructor gives guided sound design help Super Agent is chat across the studio, gated by login
Vocal and Music Engines come online with this grant. Same job. Tools in the chain that support the session, not a finished song dropped in your lap.
The product goal is integration. Take these instruments out of separate workflows and fold them into one assistant that can help across ideation, sound design, MIDI, vocals, and music. One conversation. One studio. Every output a file you keep editing. The tools exist. The ask is compute to serve them, and the product work to unify them into a single studio partner.
What already works
Live studio at apolithosstudios.com, SSO at app.apolithosstudios.com. Built and deployed solo.
Bass Engine, MIDI Spawner, Patch Instructor, and Super Agent are live today. Vocal Engine is a public preview. The model already runs locally on the founder’s machine. Music Engine is in development. What’s missing is hosted GPU so real users get usable speed, and the product work to bind the tools into one assistant instead of separate surfaces.
No users or revenue yet. The honest traction is a complete, deployed studio built solo on consumer hardware, with the vocal model already integrated locally. What’s left is hosting, integration, and a pilot. Not unsolved research.
Why this wins
Most AI music products compete on finishing the song. Apolithos competes on supporting the session. Sound design and ideation first. Editable files you keep working on. One assistant that can reach the instruments already in the studio. The song generators cannot sit in that role without abandoning what they sell.
The ask
Hugging Face compute to turn a complete solo build into a working studio assistant for real users.
The vocal and music models already run locally. Consumer hardware cannot serve real users at usable speed or concurrency. That serving wall is what this grant removes.
What we need:
Hosted GPU inference for the vocal and music layer during a small producer pilot. Inference only. Not training. Not fine tuning.
Room to ship the unified assistant on top of that serving layer, then run a real pilot with independent producers and report usage.
The funded work is turning a research model into a studio ready instrument inside one assistant. The stack is built. The model is already integrated. This is hosting and product integration, not new research. One founder can finish it in the funding window.
Who it’s for
Independent producers, sound designers, and small studios who want AI that supports the session. Ideas, sound design, files you own. While they finish the record.
Founder
Sebastian Ahumada, Apolithos Studios. Sole founder and builder. Designed, shipped, and operates the live stack on consumer hardware: backend, frontend, the current instruments, local vocal model integration, and cloud deployment. The live studio is the execution proof. Grant scope stays at compute, integration, and pilot so one person can finish it.
