😃: explain to me how to bake a cake
🤖: This depends on many factors, like whether there are other ingredients in the batter besides flour (like eggs) that need time for their chemical reactions and heat release. A good rule of thumb is to start checking your cake around 20 minutes after you've added all dry mixtures.
For cakes made with butter or shortening rather than oil then wait another few extra mins as they won't melt into liquid until fully mixed together.
If it's a chocolate based recipe where cocoa powder has been used, again allow this mixture to sit for about ten full min. before the other liquids are added - don’t rush things here!
Some recipes might require slightly more time than others depending on your oven’s temperature and power settings too!
So if you’re just starting out try not adding ingredients until they’ve had enough chance of mixing up, then mix them in slowly so as to keep everything well incorporated. After that it should take around 25-30 mins for a standard sized cake or brownie.
Remember this process isn’t something instant like heating an egg but rather needs some patience and care! With practice you can get very good results at home without having too much of stress associated with the whole thing!
And lastly don't forget to check your product’s temperature before eating - it should be around 200F/80C for best quality. After baking though make sure not throw away any leftovers as this could help keep another person happy! 🤗
