short_description: Free public record of elevator and escalator outages
Elevator Uptime
A free public record of elevator and escalator outages. Riders report broken elevators in about 15 seconds, and live transit feeds plus city and state inspection records fill in the rest. No ads, and no account needed.

Dataset
elevatoruptime/elevator-outages holds every rider report, plus the transit-agency and regulator records whose terms allow redistribution, one file per source. It's rebuilt daily from the same export as elevatoruptime.com/data.
Load it with the datasets library, for example load_dataset("elevatoruptime/elevator-outages", "rider-reports"). Each source is its own config, such as "transit-tfl" or "inspections-nyc-dob".
Read the record type before you count outages. Inspection and expired-certificate rows are regulator records, not confirmed outages. The dataset card explains each source.
