Resolution limit increase

Suggest resolution limit increase to be made so that it becomes the largest value in the resolution of the input. My use case for this has been expanding portrait 2:3 images to be square 1:1 images. e.g. I have a 3840x5120 image that I want to expand from the left and right sides to be 5120x5120. But the hard limit is 1536 - which seems arbitrary - I feel like it should at least be a power of 2 number like 2048. Even so, it currently doesn't even work with an image that big.
